Oh, I'm sure there's a reason for everything they do.

[Ion agrees lightly, because there's always a reason. Always, even if it's something worthless like 'because the Score said so' or 'they just did.']

I'm just not sure if it's a good reason.

If I were to be honest, I'm not sure what to think of anything right now, truly.

[Ion shakes his head. He wants to argue, and suggest that the reasons must be good...but he can't. He doesn't believe it, no matter how hard he tries to force himself to see the light in this scenario.]

...I don't, either.

[The admission is heavy. It makes Ion feel powerless. Funny: he felt physically stronger and more able than he had in his entire life, and yet...what did it amount to? He had nothing. He was nothing.]

But I also don't want to accept it.

[This place was not bound to the Score...and even if it were, Ion would have felt the same. He could take his own misfortune with a grain of salt...but the misfortune of everyone in the Tower? That was something Ion couldn't turn a blind eye to.]

There has to be a way to set things right again. This...[He pauses to look down at himself. To absorb the framework--the most basic idea of themselves--that they've been reduced to.]...can't be all that's left.

[He didn't want their bodies--the way they looked when "glamoured"--to be a lie. If only he knew where to even begin to look for the truth.]
