[Lancer turns to the familiar voice. Well, this saves him the trouble of looking for Kariya.]

I feel fine. And you?

[Is it just him, or is Kariya standing just a little straighter?]

Lancer.

[He knows that voice, and the violet light matches up.]

It's good to see you. I'm fine, too.

[His voice sounds stronger, and when he moves toward Lancer, it's without impediment.]

What's going on?

Seems the illusion that made us all seem to have our bodies from home broke. So now we're seeing what Jason really built our bodies out of.

[He flexes his hands.]

Sure explains a few things, I'd say.

[He stares at Kariya.]</small? I'd say you're one of the few people better off like this, right? You look healthier.

[wormless]

I thought it might be another experiment. Is that what this is? We're--this? It was all an illusion? How did it break?

[He looks down at himself, moving his arm experimentally. It's so hard to think of this body as being him. It's so alien.]

It does. Now I can see. Our collars... And those must be our souls, and they give us new robot bodies when we die.

[Kariya nods.] I'm not in any pain anymore. The worms are gone. I guess they weren't real.

[Which brings up the question of why the administrators would create fake worms to torment him. It seems cruel.]

Well, it has to do with something that my brother and the rest of the resistance did. And yeah, a lot of stuff...wasn't real.

[Including all of his powers, which was a real drag.]

Diarmuid and the resistance?

[This is news to him.]

I didn't know about any of that. What did they do?

Hardly anything's real...

Well, I don't know if you heard it, but there was a high pitched sound echoing around the last few days. Turns out my brother and the resistance were placing their gadgets. And somehow that buzzing shut down the glamour.

[He shrugs.]

I dunno how it really works. It's human technology.

[wormless]

Oh--that. No, I didn't hear it, but I met someone who did. And the worms--I think they reacted to it. They were acting strangely.

[He pauses to think.]

That's--why would they do that? Didn't they know it could be dangerous? Everyone's so upset and frightened. Where did they even get those things?

[puppy_lancer]

[He shakes his head.]

I'd think they were from Dax. So maybe they thought it would help us.
