Sorry about that. Christ. Who'd think that being these shitty...you know what I do't even know what to call this so I'm not going to, but damn if it doesn't kind of make it harder to see people, much less recognize them.

[There's a quiet sort of tensing in her shoulders, even though she gets quickly that he's trying to help; it just wasn't quickly enough. But then he talks - and boy does he talk, given the situation, and she realizes with a jolt that it's him. She still ends up peering at him, trying to decipher the peculiar lines that now make up his face. She feels a twinge of shame for him to see her like this, even if he's in a similar state, but she promptly ignores it.]

... I'm okay, Dave. [She's pretty sure she's right. She's right, right?] And I know you didn't mean to do that. Are you--?
