[Luke couldn't help but be curious after hearing what the strange, tall man muttered, even as Tear was tugging him along down the hallway. He peered around him curiously as they passed... and ended up stopping dead in his tracks when he saw what was really in their dorm rooms.]

T-that's where we've been sleeping?!

[Tear notices the tall man too, but her eyes are riveted to the pod with the violet liquid shining in it. Slowly, her free hand comes up to her mouth and she has to bite her fingers to keep from screaming. That tiny pod is what she's been sleeping in every night since she came to this hell?

Although, again, it's Luke that keeps her from completely freaking out.]

I think so...

[The head of Sephiroth's wire-frame turns just over it's jumpsuit-clad shoulder to peer down at the two that had just passed behind him. Of course he had noticed them coming but he's not the one to interact so freely.]

Violet on the outside, violet on the inside. Makes too much sense, doesn't it?

[His tone is musing as he comments. Though edged with his simmering anger.]

[Luke glanced at Tear; they were both violet too. At first he hadn't thought much of it, but now...]

What are these colors supposed to mean anyway?

[That question is something that she's wondered about since her arrival, but after this...event, it's become a relevant question. Just something she has no answer to nor can she find one.]

I-I don't know. Anise has a blue collar, but all of the rest of our party here has violet collars. Perhaps...perhaps it has something to do with our abilities?

There is nothing violet about my usual abilities.

[Sephiroth bitterly retorts back over his shoulder at Tear. Though he does turn a little more towards the two of them, considering. Though he looks more directly at Tear since she seems to be the one keeping it together easier.

Luke really hasn't gotten past base one yet, in his opinion. Sephiroth had his little near-break a few hours ago already.]

Though if it does, we should have abilities in common. What are your strengths?

[Hey, not all of us can be the big, tough Mr. SOLDIER. Luke looked a bit miffed at Sephiroth's attitude, but he doesn't address it.]

Erm... I'm just a swordsman, I guess.

[Because like hell he was bringing up hyperresonance right now.]

I mean, some of my skills use fonons, but not like Tear.

[He motioned to her vaguely, as if to take attention off himself. Yep, totally normal swordsman here.]

[Tear can sense something a little strange about the man before them. Every instinct she has screams to watch him, but since he hasn't actually done anything, she can't see a reason to not reply to his question.]

I'm a Seventh Fonist and a Melodist. I heal and cast Artes in battle.

[Swordsman, swordman and er - what?

He creases his eyebrows together, if even such an expression could be readable given their current state of being.]

A what? Some sort of musician?

Er... kinda?

[Luke glanced at Tear, the, "You explain, you're better at it," look on his face.]

[She scraped her brain for what the other people in the Tower called her abilities in battle and sighed when she found it.]

I am a...caster and healer? If I have the terminology correct, I make sure the rest of my party stays alive and cast attack Artes when I have the chance. And the fact that I am a Melodist means that I can sing fonic hymns to attack. I use sound as a weapon. So, I suppose that I could be called a musician of sorts as well.

[He offers something of a smile, but closer to a smirk between the two of them before turning his gaze back into his dormitory again. Retreating back into his thoughts again but still acutely aware that the two of them were still there.]

Right. Well, that can't be it then.

[Why should they be lumped together in some 'category' then if it didn't sound like they had much in common. Maybe there was more to it than skills they have outwardly.]

...more like something to do with our souls...

What about our souls?

[Was something about the souls themselves special? But... just what was a soul made up of? Personality, obviously... or was that programmed into the wire frame?]

[Dammit, this was too confusing!]

[Tear thought over what could be common about souls between herself and the others and their collar colors. Then, she attempted to put it into perspective for the other people in the tower.]</small. Perhaps it has to do with how complicated it is for them to retrieve our souls here?

[He might not be looking directly at them, but he still knows they are there. He seems to be largely ignoring Luke. Tear seems to be the one saying anything worthwhile, that's all. He doesn't suffer useless chatter and pointless questions.]

That's a possibility. Though surely that would depend more on each world.

So, there's really no answer; at least, not right now.

[Luke paused, looking down at his hand. Was it because of hyperresonance? Or Lorelei? Or because he was a replica? It could have been anything really; heck, it could have been because of what time he came into the Tower for all he knew.]

[Tear sighed. Her theory really was one that she'd gleamed from other residents in the tower from the network, but it did make sense. She wasn't sure what this other man could really do, but Tear, Luke, Luke, Asch, and the two Ions had skills that were difficult for most people on Auldrant to use. Fonic Hymns? Hyperresonance? Daathic Fonic Artes? Extremely rare. That also explained why Anise's collar was a different color from the rest.]

It's as good as anything else that I've heard. At this point, it makes sense.

[And Sephiroth is one of a kind when it came to Gaia as well. Regardless of how many times he'd tried to claim the Planet for his own.]

If that's true, then I suppose violet would be the most difficult to retrieve [Not that it would be very readable considering his back to them and the wire-frame of expression without a face to shape it, Sephiroth grimaces into the word. How he's been retrieved from Gaia and contained here against his will forever be a bone of contention - more-so now that they know the truth.] from our homeworlds.

I would be inclined to agree with you. Though there are still so many other questions to be answered.

Yeah... right now the best thing to do is to stick together.

[Luke paused; he seemed like the type that would probably resent being asked, but...]

Do you have friends that would be looking for you? You could stay with us until you find them.

[He was... getting better. Slowly, because this was a lot for anyone to process, but he needed to focus. Other people would probably be freaking out more than he is, and they needed to be looked after too. Heck, they all needed help right now.]

[Sephiroth's frame turned to Luke then, or more rather peered over it's shoulder at him. Eyes narrowed and trying to ascertain if perhaps this one were trying to make some sort of joke.

Friends. Who needs them. Quite clearly they are all their own souls, inside their own cages and it would be up to only the individual to break it. Most probably wouldn't even be strong enough.]

I'd rather not.

[Something about this man exuded a danger that Tear couldn't place, especially with him not actually having a face to judge. However, she also knew that poking a killer bee's nest was a stupid thing and if she didn't stop Luke now, it would get worse.

She clamped a hand over his mouth and whispered in his ear.]

This isn't the kind of person to antagonize, Luke. I suggest that we leave him alone and try to find the others by ourselves.

Just...trust me, okay?

Mmph!

[Luke looked exasperated, reaching up to pull her hand off. He spoke to her in the same hushed whisper, though it... probably wasn't as effective, consider he wasn't aiming for her ear.]

I'm not trying to antagonize him, I'm trying to be helpful. This isn't exactly an easy situation for anyone. It's not like I was going to bully him into joining us; he looks like he can handle himself fine anyway.

[He knew that they were still there. He'd have heard them move away if they weren't. Clearly there was some whispering going on, but without powers Sephiroth can't heighten his senses to hear what Tear said to Luke.

Luke, however is much less whisper-y and Sephiroth turns his gaze over the shoulder back at the pair of them again. Just watching them for now, though he certainly would look more intimidating with the Glamour up then he does as a wire-frame.]

[Tear held back the desire to either hit him or yell. Really, she'd thought he'd matured enough so that she could say things to him.

Still refusing to speak louder than a whipser, she tried again.]

Do you trust me? My judgment?

Of course I do, but you need to trust me not to do something stupid all the time.

[He wasn't mad, didn't even look mad... but geeze, Tear; trust him every now and then! After a moment, he turned back to Sephiroth, giving him a nod.]
