I know. You are right.

[It's probably a good thing she can't see his face right now. There would be both doubt and shame in his eyes because her words are echoing some of the same doubts he's started having since this happened.]

I don't know if they thought that far ahead. I think maybe they were just looking for a chance to try and do something. Anything and that might have blinded them to some very important truths.

They better come up with a plan. And quickly.

[She gives another huff.]

I expect they are working very hard and very fast to do just that.

[He has to believe that anyway, because if not it just compounds his own mistake especially since he knows so few of the actual details that he has no way to help with any of those plans.]

And if not them, others who might not have been involved before will be now. It's kind of hard to keep secrets when everyone is being impacted like this.

[A pause.]

You already know so much. How did you find out?

[oathshackledbird]

I'm a warrior, remember? And more than that, a leader. I like to try and find out as much about any given situation as I can.

[That is not the whole truth, but he doesn't dare talk about the Resistance at the moment. They might be back away from most of the crowd, but there are still too many people around for it to be safe.]

I have been listening to people and gathering information ever since I first arrived here. It might not help a lot, but when we can control so little about our lives every little bit helps.

[She gives a dry, nervous chuckle that sounds more like a cough.]

I'm always underestimating things about you, aren't I? Every time I turn around, you stun me with exactly how skilled you are.

[He answers her chuckle with a dry, almost forced laugh of his own.]

While I appreciate it, I think your praise is misplaced. What I do is so very little compared to what I want to do. I want to be doing so much more...

You always do more than anyone expects from you. That is enough.

It's not. Not when there is still so much more to do.

[He shakes his head and gives her what would be a grateful look if he had a face to show expression with.]

But thank you. Are you feeling a little better? Are there any other questions I can try to answer for you?

I am feeling much better. And I think all my questions are answered for now. I'll leave you a note if I think of anything else.

[She stands up and dusts herself off.]

[Diarmuid also gets to his feet, nodding.]

Be careful, Lady Archibald. We don't know what other surprises they might have in store for us. I'm doing my best to comfort and talk to as many people as I can. Is there anyone you would like me to look for in specific?

Ah...this is an odd request but...two robots, perhaps. Their names are Rabbit and Spine. Rabbit is rather easy to find. Just look for someone causing trouble.

[Diarmuid shakes his head.]

Not so odd. I have talked to Rabbit once or twice. He is an...interesting individual. Spine. He said one of his friends went by that name. Am I correct in assuming he has arrived here as well?

Yes. I met him a few days ago. He is...much better behaved than his older brother is.

Once things settle down I will have to see about meeting him properly.

[He refuses to think in terms of 'if.']

Rabbit is friends with a young girl who is a friend of mine. He helps to look out for her since she can't really do it herself. I will be sure to try and find them. Is there anyone else?
