[She rubs her cheek against his arm happily, then nods emphatically and chips in her agreement.]

That's true! And if we were never really able to use them, I guess they don't have complete control over all of us after all. They might've gotten most of our souls, but there's still a part of us out there somewhere that's free!

[And she hates to be a downer, but...Yu is the one person that she can always be herself around, so she can't bring herself to hide a flicker of doubt over that last part of what he said.]

...Are they, though? Or do we just think they are...? Like how we've thought that we're cooking or sewing or just making things in general...

[They'd thought they were changing things or creating things, after all, but...it all just turned out to be film, or oatmeal and nutrition bars. Maybe they only think they're having an effect on things...and that Glamour system or whatever it is somehow makes sure their expectations are met...]

[However, Yu smirks at something. Maybe it was an old joke, maybe not. Either way, he knows this isn't really the best example but is giving it anyway.]

I'm not sure. But, what I do know is we weren't using the treadmills a year ago after a friend and I destroyed them with our combined powers. [But any sign of humor instantly drops to an icy chill when the aftermath...] ...and anyone destroyed by Personas or magic in general really are destroyed.

Maybe it is because we believe it's what would happen, maybe it's not... Either way, it's still the same result.
