[Massive Infiltration Plot] || [Semi-Open]

Setting: The Cafeteria, then the Elevator's Shaft and finally the Administrative Floors. The 29th of July, in the morning.
Format: Action most likely.

Summary: A month ago Ganondorf planned an infiltration to go and pay a visit to Riki's floor-- Given what has happened these last weeks, the 'Evil Alliance' has accepted to allow Enoch and the people he gathered to use the infiltration in order to do their own thing. Namely, retrieve scientific instruments from Jason's laboratory, so as to study the Collar Fluid. The infiltration will begin on the 1st floor, the Cafeteria.

The first thread is a traditional mingle thread, happening before the infiltration and briefing begin; anyone can tag into it. The second thread is a quick briefing before the infiltration starts, where Enoch and Ganondorf will explain to everyone what to do and what to expect in case they don't already know. Then there are the seven group threads, one for each individual team infiltrating.

The OOC post is here for more information. If you have signed-up but didn't pick a group yet, please do so here. While the infiltration takes place, the villains who stayed behind are unleashing a distraction on the tower and those who don't go.

Warnings: Administrative floors, danger, death, horror. Anyone tagging here is probably going to die, or at the very least meet with a terrible fate.

[After the other groups aiming for Riki and Jason's floors have gone, Zelda stands at the edge of the elevator shaft, peering down at the dark drop. How long would it take to reach Dax's floor, if they can even reach it at all, she can't help but wonder.

But no. They have to at least try to find that door the woman a few days ago was yelling down the halls about. They owe it to Dax.

She turns to her companions.]

You two are stronger than I am. How do you wish to approach this?

[On the outside, Ruler wears the same calm mask of determination like so many of the others involved in this plan do. But on the inside... well. She couldn't lie to herself: she was nervous. The last time they went down into the lower levels like this, she had met with a horrible fate.

But she wouldn't let that stop her from going through with this. Jeanne d'Arc was not one who knew the meaning of the word 'retreat', and this situation was no different.]

There's no telling just how deep this shaft goes. Descending will not be a problem for me, but you... [She turns to Zelda.] Carrying you will not be a problem at all, if you think it is a good idea.

Fuck yeah, Team Girl Power!

It would be better for Ruler to carry you. She is the tallest of us.

[And while Arturia might be the best with a sword among the three of them with the muscles in her arms and back to prove it, she is also the smallest among their little party. If they lose their powers on the way down, she isn't sure she can hold Zelda and herself up on the cables.]

I can go ahead of you to make sure there's nothing more scrambling up the shaft if you two wish.

If I'm offline due to work/sleep, our lovely NPC mods, Kiyuu, and Jamie have full rights to godmod Arturia as they see fit. This is up to and including killing her off if need be! [Her pride prevents her from being enthusiatic about the idea, but she does nod her agreement.]

I am more accustomed to quick, simple climbs - not anything like this. ... But if you tire, please tell me.

[She's not letting Ruler do anything unnecessarily risky, if she can help it. Not after last time.]

I would hope there is nothing down there after all the other groups have gone, but if Ruler is carrying me then you would have the best opportunity to swipe anything away, I think. [Another nod.] I am all right with this plan.

You don't need to worry about that, Zelda. If we do not encounter anything unpleasant on our way down, then I will not tire from something like this.

[She smiles, despite her current inner turmoil.] And as much as I trust Arturia- [She nods towards the blonde, smile still on her face] - If you do not mind it, I would prefer it if you were to hold onto my back as we descend. That way if we do meet with any unfortunate opposition, I do not have to risk dropping you.

[She turns to the elevator and.... stares at the gap between here and the cable. Arturia thinks she could make the jump from here to the cable, but is the fall worth the risk? They're the last group going down so they do not have anyone with powers to aid them as far as she is aware.]

If you say so, all right. I will do whatever you think is best.

[Anything is better than being princess-carried. And then it's Zelda's turn to look back down the shaft. The jump from here to the cable looks fine, but she can just make out where the cable hooks into the wall. She can't imagine why is does that - elevators as a general concept still confuse her - but she can see it presents a problem in their planned descent.]

Hold on. Let us see how far that gap goes.

[Her magic might be an illusion, but it's worked down there most of the time. Summoning a bit of light to her hand, she sends down a few glowing golden spheres, hopefully illuminating the shaft enough to make a better judgement on what to do next.]

[The spheres float down into the darkness and beyond where they can be seen. It's clear that the cables end below the cafeteria level--they hook into the walls and leave only empty air beneath them. It's impossible to tell how far down they'll have to go to reach more cable, or if indeed there are any cables at all from that point.]

[Ruler watches the light go down, her smile no longer on her face, but she doesn't look frustrated or upset either. Perhaps, if they were in a bigger group like those that left before them this would have been a problem. But this? No, this shouldn't be too difficult for them.

She looks up at Arturia.] Will running straight down the walls of the shaft be a problem for you? Using the cables is very much preferred, but if we have no other options once they end...

No, it's not. We will just have to be very careful about judging the distance or finding a handhold to stop when we get low enough. I have managed more difficult things before I even became a Heroic Spirit.

You are... serious about this? Running down the wall...?

[Ruler nods, as at ease as Arturia is with the idea.]

For people with our abilities, doing such things as running up or down vertical surfaces is child's play.

... Right then.

[DEEP BREATH. It's okay, Zelda. Remember you trust these people with your life.]

Then... Ruler, if you are ready...?

[Yeah, she's definitely going to be clinging to you for dear life, holy bff.]

Of course. No point in waiting any longer.

[And with that, she crouches down, waiting patiently for her friend to climb on.]

[And she does with as much dignity as she can manage... though she's holding on quite a bit tighter than she might have been if they were just climbing down cables. Once settled, she makes a small, acknowledging hum, signaling that she's as ready as she'll every be.

Oh, Din, Nayru, and Farore, these missions get more and more insane each time.]

[Once the other two are ready, Arturia takes point, Caliburn at the ready just in case.

For Zelda's comfort she counts down from three, then steps off the edge of the shaft like nothing. From there, it's a simple issue of orienting herself so her feet touch the wall and then she begins to run. Her eyes scan for anything they could use for handholds on the way down or for any of those creatures that had been crawling up the shaft of the elevator.]

[As they descend, the opening into the cafeteria rapidly disappears behind them. Soon they're surrounded by darkness and smooth, featureless elevator shaft. Eventually a light appears in the distance: a ring of red light marks the beginning of the administrative levels of the elevator shaft. There is still no sign of a cable.]

[Ruler tenses as the ring of red light grows closer, holding tightly onto Zelda even as she clings to her back.]

Is that a barrier, or something else...?

I don't know. There's only one way to find out.

[AKA: Run right at the ring and hope for the best! Everyone else made it past this point.... right?]

[Hope you two aren't counting on some sagely advice right now. Zelda is currently preoccupied with burying her face as deeply as she can into Ruler's shoulder.

[There's a slight shift in her balance, Caliburn disappearing from her hand. That's all right, though. Arturia moves so she's dropping feet first and keeping close to the wall in case she needs to kick off anywhere.

They should be on the level of the Administrative levels now. It won't be long until they reach Dax's.

[Ruler can certainly feel the change too, and has to bite her tongue to stop herself from making a noise of frustration. Of course something like this would happen...

But still, she still holds tight onto the girl on her back, shifting so that she's falling in the same way that Arturia is.]

There must be doors on the walls, for the elevators! [But it's dark, so they'll be hard to spot...] They have to have grooves along the walls for them that we might be able to grab onto!
