"This one can. It can also make things seem like other things."

Enoch sighs quietly, and reaches down to Yotsuba. He feels like he has to pick her up, the poor little thing...

"...Suffice it to say, they couldn't control that this happened to us. It will be fixed soon."

Now, Yotsuba sometimes missed things..but she wasn't stupid. She remembered that loud announcement. Something about the glamour failing. If that was true..no, no, no. Yotsuba's smile fell, and while she still liked the idea of being a robot, this was a new layer of horror that she had not dealt with yet. If Enoch wanted to pick her up, she wouldn't stop him. She liked it, to be honest.

"Okay..but why couldn't the bad people control it? Enoch..how did Yotsuba's body become metal? Why were they hiding it from me?!" If she could cry, she would probably be bawling again.

Then she's getting cradled on his lap like she was his own daughter. However odd it may look in these bodies, like dolls posed.

"It's all right. Don't worry, everything's fine. Yotsuba, look down. Do you see that glow through your clothes?"
sunflowerfairy: (Messy)

[personal profile] sunflowerfairy 2013-06-02 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Yotsuba didn't really care how weird it looked. Even in a state of non-panic, she wasn't one to worry about such things most of the time. However, before she could respond and say that this wasn't fine or all right, Enoch asked his question, and Yotsuba looked down at the orange glow through her clothes.

"Yes..what is it?"

"That's you - it's your soul. That's how Zo rescues us. So you see... We're still ourselves. You are Yotsuba, and you always will be. We'll find a way to fix this, and then we can return to our real bodies. But until then, know that you are never anyone but you, no matter what your body is like."
sunflowerfairy: (Huh..?)

[personal profile] sunflowerfairy 2013-06-03 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that was surprising. While this was nice to know, it just filled Yotsuba with more questions..and made her gut feel queasy, like something bad was coming. Squeezing Juralumin for comfort, Yotsuba spoke, looking at Enoch's blue soul.

"Okay..I understand a little. And our souls are pretty! But..if Earth was destroyed, than how can Yotsuba's body still be there?"

...Yes, Yotsuba still thought that only Earth had been destroyed and that Daddy and Jumbo and the rest had escaped on a spaceship and were going to bust her and the others out.

Because there are more kinds of destruction than that. I hope you never see what I mean for yourself. *He hugs the girl a little closer at that, hand brushing over the film that was her hair.*

...Know that your father's soul is somewhere here too, him and everyone else who wasn't rescued by Zo - he tried but he couldn't save more than one, so the rest are trapped where not even the rulers of this place can get to them. We'll find a way to save them too.
sunflowerfairy: (What.)

[..Yotsuba could understand that Enoch didn't want her to see what had happen..but the way he had left that open was quite puzzling. She really didn't understand that. However, she did understand one thing: she was saved and everyone else was not, they're souls lost somewhere. They weren't in Heaven, and there was no way this place could be it, or Enoch would have pointed that out.

In short, her Daddy was..physically dead. Everyone she knew was. Whatever smile had reappeared on Yotsuba's face vanished instantly, and she felt like crying..but even though she tried as she spoke, she still couldn't do it.]

But..you don't know where they are! No one can point you to them. Yotsuba can't find hi..hidden things sometimes without help. And Daddy's dead and Jumbo's dead and Mommy and Ena and Fuka and Asagi..

[And this was just not her day.]

*Enoch held Yotsuba close, rocking subtly to try to soothe her as well as he could. Dax had wanted to show them this. Dax had wanted them to see the truth. He knew it was hurting people. And he couldn't say that didn't hurt. But Dax knew better than any resident what was there - Dax had given them all the tools to find their own way. To do for them what he could not.

It hurt. The way watching Sariel's children and lovers had hurt. The way watching the Watchers' martyrs die at his hands hurt. The way the evident peacefulness of Armaros hurt.

But he was never one to even address his doubt beyond the pain. So he did not.*

I never said I didn't know where they are. They're here, but you can only see where they are at night, when it's dangerous and all the monsters are out. We adults will save everyone, the people in these bodies and the other souls. I promise, I will do everything in my power to save your parents, and everyone else.

[Yotsuba was used to being held. For some reason, that happened a lot in the Tower, but she wasn't going to complain about it. However, being rocked was a new experience, and not even Daddy had done that since..Yotsuba tended to not get too upset about anything, since huge catastrophes were either taken care of quickly or didn't happen at all.

And while Yotsuba usually loved new experiences in general, the rocking did help, along with squeezing Juralumin as hard as she could. This, combined with Enoch's promise, got her to smile a little.]

Really?! You won't forget?!

[..It always was easy for her to bounce back.]
warriorscribe: (Nervous smile)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2013-06-08 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course I won't. It takes a very, very long time to make me forget something so important.
sunflowerfairy: (Happy)

[personal profile] sunflowerfairy 2013-06-08 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[..And with that, Yotsuba was smiling again.]

Okay then! I'll do my best to su..sur..live until then! And Juralumin will get mad if you break it, okay?

[At the question, Yotsuba held up her 'teddy bear' a bit and waved it around, like it was annoyed at something.]
warriorscribe: (Nervous smile)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2013-06-09 08:25 am (UTC)(link)
*Enoch chuckled warmly.* I promise I won't break it.
sunflowerfairy: (Huh..?)

[personal profile] sunflowerfairy 2013-06-09 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Good! We'll all do our best then! Can Yotsuba help when I grow up?
warriorscribe: (Gentleness)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2013-06-10 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
*It...takes a little while to answer her. Of all the questions! It's a good thing facial definition isn't clear here.*

I'm sure we won't take that long, Yotsuba.
sunflowerfairy: (Messy)

[personal profile] sunflowerfairy 2013-06-10 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
[She had just been curious..she didn't know how long it would take, and since she couldn't be a magical girl, she thought it best to ask about this, since only grown-ups could help.]

Oh..okay then. How long will it take?
warriorscribe: (It'll be fine...won't it?)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2013-06-11 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
There's no telling, but it certainly won't take as long as your entire childhood.
sunflowerfairy: (Default)

[personal profile] sunflowerfairy 2013-06-11 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Not that Yotsuba really had a good guess as to how long she would remain a child. As far as she knew, she was going to be a child for a long time.

Not that she really minded, to be honest. Before she could get out her next sentence though, she yawned, loosening her grip on Juralumin.]

Okay then! Thank you!
