[Massive Infiltration Plot] || [Semi-Open]

Characters: All the characters who signed up for this infiltration, too many to write them all here. Characters who stay behind and do not infiltrate can tag into the mingle thread.
Setting: The Cafeteria, then the Elevator's Shaft and finally the Administrative Floors. The 29th of July, in the morning.
Format: Action most likely.

Summary: A month ago Ganondorf planned an infiltration to go and pay a visit to Riki's floor-- Given what has happened these last weeks, the 'Evil Alliance' has accepted to allow Enoch and the people he gathered to use the infiltration in order to do their own thing. Namely, retrieve scientific instruments from Jason's laboratory, so as to study the Collar Fluid. The infiltration will begin on the 1st floor, the Cafeteria.

The first thread is a traditional mingle thread, happening before the infiltration and briefing begin; anyone can tag into it. The second thread is a quick briefing before the infiltration starts, where Enoch and Ganondorf will explain to everyone what to do and what to expect in case they don't already know. Then there are the seven group threads, one for each individual team infiltrating.

Well, at least they can still fly. Even if we do cut back, that gives us some leverage.

[Riku sighs, continuing to hold on tight.]

We'll just have to be careful until we either find a door or reach the bottom.

[Though, really, he's not expecting Dave to have Bro dive head first. If John wants to cut back, that's fine. There's still room on his Ryu Dragon, at any rate.]

[[Deciding it might be a good idea to save some space and ride with someone else, Rose has Vodka set her down with Sora. She can move to sit with someone else if needed, but for now his ride was closest.]]

I hope you don't mind a partner.

[[Turning, she gives her Dragonite a couple of appreciative pets, assuring him she'd be alright before returning him to his Pokeball.]]

[Sora joined everyone else in having a minor heart attack, but he breathes a sigh of relief when all the near-freefalling stops and everyone is still in one piece. At least they know what they need to look out for, now.

Sora nods at the suggestion that they double up and lighten their load. Since it looked like the monsters that they were using could be stored in those ball things (more stuff that he needed to ask about later) and the Ryu Dragon could, someone should probably ride with him, but who-

And then Rose is put down next to him. Problem solved!]

[The Ryu Dragon still seems okay with two passengers, thankfully, so Sora's hoping for a smooth ride down.

Never hurts to be optimistic, right?]

Good idea, Dave. [After a few moments coddling and making sure that the Lampent is okay, John flies back up and over the line to join the other half of the party. As much as he loves Chandel and as useful as her light is, without the ability to float she's little more than a 25 pound paperweight. She can't even walk on her own since she doesn't have legs, so really putting her back in the ball is the only sensible option here.]

[Once she's back inside and everybody is settled into their new arrangements and good to go, it's time for the group to go back to descending and see what they run into past the cables...]

[Good everyone was safe for now. Now that he gets a better look at the cables, there's a fair amount of blood in them. Hopefully not that of the other groups, but he can't help but wonder.]

No way to go now but down.

[And now to press on forward, giant naked man switched for dragonite talons.]

[Highwind blinks a few times after being caught, making thankful (and maybe slightly apologetic) squeaks at John - he was trying really hard! :( - and when they pass Riku, Naoya and Snoop on the way up, Highwind finally stops clinging to Chandel and flutters to his owner. It's easy to see that this misadventure has left some marks on him though; his flight is anything but smooth and Riku, for once, is very quick to pull him into his arms, scratching Highwind behind his ears as he tries to assess the damage (it's not too bad, thankfully).

He nods absently at Naoya's remark as he helps his Dream Eater to take his usual place on his shoulder for easier travel for now.]

Yeah... Though let's try to avoid anymore falls, if we can.

[There is enough misadventure and/or opportunity to die ahead as is.]

[All superhuman abilities will be disabled below the red light, but as long as the creatures they're flying on can really fly under their own power the descent will remain a controlled one. It takes quite a bit of time, still, before the elevator cables resume, bringing with them a line of closed elevator doors. They're too far up, at the moment, to be at their destination.

It's eerily silent on this side of the red light.]

[Those doors grab Riku's attention straight away. After a long descent with nothing but smooth walls, it's a welcome change of pace. The question is, which door leads where?]

Hmm. You guys think we're getting close?

[Who knows how far the shaft even goes, really?]

[There's something tangled in the elevator cables a little ways down from where they currently are. The cables themselves are wet and slick with blood, gore, and oil.]

Hard to tell. It looks like the shaft goes down forever.

[Sora notices the closed doors, too, and he lets himself get hopeful that they might be getting somewhere. He can't really tell, though - unlike some of the group, Sora has never been down here, and has no idea what they would be looking for.

He sees the blood on the cables, too, but he tries not to think about it too hard. He just hopes that everyone else is okay...or as okay as they can be, considering what they're all trying to do.

As much as he wants to, though, he can't avoid looking at the cables, and he sees the something down there - or, at least, he's pretty sure he does. It's hard to tell, since he's one of the last going down.]

Is there something down there...?

[John was also warily eyeing the tangled something in the cords, admittedly hoping that nobody would comment on it.]

If there is, I think it might be best to leave it alone. I admittedly am not a master of the horror movie genre but something like "suspicious cable jumble in a dark spooky elevator shaft" just has "trope of death" written all over it. But that's just me.

[He says that as though coming down here in the first place didn't have a similar notice written on it...]

Anyway, it really is hard to tell, especially since we're traveling in such an unconventional way. But I think we might need to keep going. The Processing Room is so deep down here that we had to take a second elevator to reach it last time. Though, admittedly I don't know if it would be better to aim for that or just the general admin area.

[Probably should have thought this through a little more...]

On the one hand, I don't think any of us want to risk an encounter with one of the admins. But on the other, I don't know if those styluses would be stored in Processing or in a more general area. [He looks over to his companions.] What do you all think?

[Dave doesn't think too hard about the blood and gore slicked cables. He's seen enough of that and known it to be his blood and innards in the session to shut it out nearly entirely. So long as he doesn't look at it, he can shut it out. He guides his dragon lower, getting a look at the doors.]

We're going to want to take the risk John, think about it. Where the admins are, the equipment will be. At least some of it. [And answers. He has to really think about that. What he saw, was it real? Was it fake?? He has to know.]

If we have to keep going down, we do. The deeper we go the more chances we have of being caught.

[The something stuck in the cables reveals itself to be the severed arm of an android--Labrys's, if they recognize it.

It sounds like someone is humming, somewhere, though it's hard to tell from what direction the noise is coming.]

[Riku takes note of the blood and the arm stuck below them - though he doesn't recognizes as Labrys', he has no illusions where it must come from and it leaves him with a very cold knot in his gut. He exhales lowly as he pulls himself away from the sight - there is nothing they can do right now, they've all known the risks from the start and as long as there is nothing to indicate otherwise he'll just have to assume that Xion, Yu and Terra have made it - and focuses on contributing to the discussion at hand.]

If you think there is a bigger chance of find them in Processing then we should go. Keep in mind that we'll be sitting ducks there though.

[The last time most their powers had worked in the general area at least and there was some chance that they still would, but the Processing Room would leave them powerless from the start.

Riku lifts his head when the humming starts, Highwind's ears twitching as they both try to make out where that's coming from. Though, regardless of that...]

Whatever we do, we need to decide quickly.

Guess it all depends. John did say that the Processing Room held those styluses, but you gotta wonder if they leave them there all the time. Either way, we're taking a gamble, and unless you guys wanted to split up, it's not like we can cover both areas at once.

[He takes a look down, bringing one hand to his ear once the humming starts.]

Splitting up's probably not the smartest idea, either. So, either we risk getting caught by admins or we risk getting stuck. Which do you think's the better route?

[Man, this was tough - either go down to the processing area and risk not finding anything on top of getting stuck, or take a shot in the dark and go to the general areas. Sora concentrates for a minute, trying to think. Planning was never his strong suit, but that was no reason not to at least try to help.

...and he really hopes that weird humming noise isn't a monster or something. That's the last thing they need right now]

Well...the Processing Area is where you actually saw the styluses, right? If we just go to the general area, we won't even know where to go.

Still, it's pretty risky no matter how we do it.

[So long as they don't split up. That just has "bad idea" written all over it.]

[The humming grows louder--it sounds almost like buzzing, if children were buzzing.]

[Naoya recognized that arm; normally it would be much harder, but Labrys' were rather unique. Hopefully she'd be fine to survive what came next. There wasn't much time to worry about others, everyone went in this knowing that death was a near certainty.]

Sticking together is the best plan. As long as some of us survive and get the stylus, it's fine.

[That's a heavy way of thinking. Probably something he wouldn't have said last year. And he's ready to step up for it, if it comes down to the dirty and gritty.]

If we need a distraction, for you to all go on, I'll do it.

[But the sound they are hearing now...like really strange bees.]

Whatever is happening, we're getting near something. Everyone ready?

Yeah, that's the only place I have seen them. I guess I figured, if nothing else, there might be somebody else doing the same job I was down there. And how hard could it be to take something from what is essentially a mindless zombie? But Dave has a point too.

[No offense meant to any tower residents who are currently stuck being mindless zombies.]

So let's just keep going down, make Procesing our goal but in the event that something happens or we can't get there from this shaft, we will make due. Goal oriented, but flexible, yeah?

[Just keep ~~swimming~~ descending, just keep ~~swimming~~ descending...]

[Countless wasps with the heads of human children fly up from the bottom of the elevator shaft. They'll vanish just before they touch anyone, however.]

[[Wasps? With the heads of kids? Now that's just shitty. With a frown, she leans down a little bit further to the dragon she's riding on, watching them and closing her eyes as she scrunches up and braces for impact...

But it never comes.

Opening her eyes again....reveals that they're suddenly gone.]]

...where'd...where'd they go?

[So much for the buzzing sound going away - for a moment Sora worries that they might be in big trouble already, but nothing comes of it. The weird wasps just...disappear. At least, it seems like they do.]

I...think they're gone?

[Sora doesn't sound very sure of that at all, but he doesn't hear anything else, either.]

Well, wherever we go, we should start moving before they come back. Or before something else shows up.

[With the wasps gone, Riku lets out a huge sigh of relief. A fight at this altitude and without powers was definitely not on his agenda.]

Sora's right. We should keep going as far as we can. We can't afford to stop now.

[Not that he has much of a say, seeing how he's riding on someone else's dragon, but if the others are up for going, he is, too.]

[The area they're looking for is one of the farther ones, relatively--still, they shouldn't have a problem traveling down, as long as they can ignore the banging and screeching that seems to resound through the elevator shaft, as well as the little bloody handprints that seem to be shadowing them, as if some invisible, bloody creature were following their descent.]

[Riku tunes out the banging and the screeching - there is no use getting sidetracked now already - but he takes note of the hand prints... and the possibility of them being followed by something invisible. There is nothing they can do except keep a wary eye on that, if the wasps before are any indication this could also be just an illusion.

...Or it could be something more, but they'd find out soon enough.

He turns his focus away and tries to remember the last time he had traveled this far down, and how long it had taken them then. They've traveled quite a distance now, so...]
