Yotsuba and...

Setting: Dorm room 1-03 and the dorm floors.
Format: Prose, but I'll match you.
Summary: A very shaken Yotsuba returns the the Tower and tries to find the people she knew so that she can 'warn' them and get some answers as to what happened to her.
Warnings: Yotsuba will be crying here. Seeing a dead father that you love dearly will do that. Information as to what she saw can be found on her profile.

When Yotsuba woke up, she wasn't expecting to be in a bed. Scared, she sat up and tried to think as to where she was, since she had forgotten a little bit, since so much time had passed, and since she had seen so many terrifying things. Remembering, and not bothering to read the the notes she had been given or look in her trunk, she got out of bed and carefully wandered into the hall. Her destroyed world had been terrible..and lonely. She didn't want her Daddy to be like that! She didn't want it at all..so she had to tell everyone so that they could come up with a plan and help him!

But just thinking about it had started to make her cry, and she didn't stop as she rushed about the dorm hallways, crying out, hoping to find someone she knew. Of course, if she bumped into someone else, that would be nice too, but..right now, her mind was going to the people here she knew and loved.

"L-Luci! Dia?! E..Enoch?! Zett! Romeo?! Mr..Mr Edgey?! Rick?! Are you guys here?! Help!"

Of course, to people she hadn't met, she would just look like a scared little kid that had just arrived. To people that knew her though..this would be a bittersweet homecoming of sorts.

Zett had just emerged from his room when he froze in his tracks at the sight of her across from him. Was he hallucinating? It was always possible that she'd come back, but he had no guarantee that he would be so lucky as to see her again...

"Yotsuba?"

If it was a hallucination, it would have to be a very good one to actually touch Zett, as the girl would, upon seeing and hearing Zett, quickly rush to him and try to hug him, still crying and desperately wanting answers and company.

"Zett! Yotsuba doesn't want that future at all! It was super scary and Daddy isn't supposed to be like that and e-everybody was dead and scary and they smelled bad! We can't put their souls in them! They'd die again and Yotsuba would be lonely! Did Zoe mess up?! I didn't wanna go there at all! It was super bad! Does Enoch know? He promised to save everyone.."

Out of things to say, Yotsuba would just keep on sobbing and clinging tightly to the demon that was her friend.

Zett clung back to her, waiting for her to be done before answering.

"It'll be okay... We're going to fix things and then we can put souls back where they belong. Uncle Enoch will be able to save everyone, you'll see. I know he will."

Where were Lucifel and Enoch... they'd be able to handle this much better.

Sadly, that didn't really help Yotsuba calm down, even though she did like the hug. After all, Enoch had promised to save everyone, but..she didn't know if he knew about what state the bodies were in back home. If he didn't know, then everyone would die again when they put the bodies back in!

"I know! But..if we put the souls back in those bodies, they'll die again! They're smelly and wrinkled and scary and dead! I don't want Daddy and Fuka and Mommy and Ena and Asagi and Jumbo ta die! I don't want that future! I don't want it at all!"

Ah--! Where are you going, child?

[When Yotsuba rushed by, Gilles, emerging from the shadows, put out a hand, resting it on her shoulder.]

Are you crying? Don't be frightened.

[While the man looked a little scary, the hand on her shoulder was a little comforting..even if it didn't stop her from crying. It did, however, stop her from running. She had no idea, after all, at how terrifying this person could be to children.]

Y-Yotsuba is! I'm looking for Enoch and Luci and Rick..and everyone! They hafta know about the bodies back home! They're super scary and smelly and wrinkly and..and they're dead! We can't put the souls in them or they'll die again and Yotsuba will be all alone again! I don't want a future like that!

Yotsuba? Is that your name? What a pretty name.

[Gilles smiles.]

You're looking for your friends? Maybe I can help you find them.

The bodies? No, no, why would you want that? It sounds terrible. So much death! We can't let you be alone. I'm sure we can fix it! We must see what can be done. For now, I can keep you company.

Romeo was in his room when he heard his name being called, by someone who was crying and wanted help! He jumped off his bed and rushed to the door looking out into the corridor.

"Yostuba!" He ran at her, wrapping his arms around her tightly, he had been so sad when she had gone, and even though she looked sad now, at least she was back and her friends could help her.

"You don't got to cry anymore, it's alright."

While Yotsuba wasn't really thinking about how much nicer the Tower was in comparison with her dead world, it was true that this place was quite a bit better than it. Right now though, Yotsuba returned the hug, clinging to Romeo as tightly as she could, and continued to cry.

"Romeo..it was super scary! Daddy's body..it was weird and scary and it smelled bad and it was dead! We can't put his soul in there, or he'll die again and Yotsuba will be lonely again.."

Vaguely, Yotsuba remembered a dolly that Enoch had made her to give her a friend when she needed one and no one else was there. But not even the dolly had been allowed to follow her. She would be alone if Daddy and everyone else died!

"It's okay Yostuba." He hugged her really tightly because he remembered how scary it had been when he had first went back to his world and found his parents and brothers all dead.

"His soul will have gone to heaven, I have a friend who will be looking after him really good and when we free our souls we can go there too. It's really nice."

Dorm Floor One

[DON'T FEAR YOTSUBA ORANGE THE CAT IS HERE]

[Granted, he's frozen at the end of the hallway, too startled and shocked to actually move forward or shift or do much of anything other than stare, because...]

[Oh, Yotsuba would continue to cry and be terrified, but when she saw Orange at the end of the hallway, she quickly rushed to him and tried to scoop him up and hug him tightly, crying all the while. That whole ordeal had been terrifying, and she needed some comfort and answers, even if Orange didn't like it.]

That was really bad, Orange! Daddy's body was weird and it smelled bad and it was dead and everyone else was like that! We can't put their souls in there, or they'll die again and Yotsuba will be alone..

[At this point, Yotsuba would attempt to bury her face in the cats fur. There was probably no way Orange would approve of this.]

I don't wanna be alone..I don't want that future!

[The cat doesn't have time to not like being coddled by a small crying child, because as soon as she runs towards him Rick gets his nerves together and shifts back, kneeling at Yotsuba's level with arms open to accept her in a firm hug.]

...I-It'll be o-okay. You're okay now. [Said softly and with entirely too much confidence, interspersed with gentle shushing and rocking as she buries her face in his hair.] Y-You're here, a-a-and you're s-safe, and w-we'll m-make it all b-better...

The sounds of someone crying had drawn Veronica out of her room and into the hallway. She looked around in confusion before spotting Yotsuba a ways away from her. She was crying again? What was going on now?

"Y-yotsuba? Is something wrong?"

While Yotsuba didn't trust Veronica a hundred percent, when she saw the scarred girl, she quickly rushed to her and tried to hug her legs as tightly as she could.

"That was..that was horrible! It was really scary, Ver..Veronica! Daddy can't be like that or he'll die again when we put his soul in! I don't want that future!"

Veronica, sadly, probably had no idea what she was talking about.

Veronica nearly topples over from the force of the kid clamping onto her legs, only staying upright because of her training. It was odd seeing this little kid that had been so uptight before, now latching onto someone that she barely knew.

But she was a kid. And she seemed to be panicking quite a bit. It was a shame that Veronica didn't know what she was talking about. Didn't make her not want to help though.

Lightly detaching the kid from her legs, Veronica crouched so she was eye level with Yotsuba. She pulled a hankerchief from her cloak.

"H-here, use this." She handed it to the girl, a bit unsure of what to say. "Try t-to c-calm down. Explain w-what's g-going on."

Diarmuid is just leaving his room when his enhanced hearing picks up on a small familiar voice calling out for help. At first he thinks he's imaging it. He has to be. Why would the Tower have sent her away only to bring her back so quickly? It is a trick? A different version of the same girl he had cared so much for? Then, the names she is calling for register. They are not the names of people from her home, but people from here.

And among them, his name.

It takes only the blink of an eye for him moving at full speed to make it to her side. When he sees her, tears wet the corners of his his eyes as he kneels down and holds his arms out for a hug.

"Yotsuba..."

That's alright! Take as long as you want! And thanks! I didn't think I'd be back so soon, but here I

Yotsuba just thought that it was another mistake that Zo had made, even if it was bad and super scary. However, when she saw Diarmuid, she stopped running-only to tackle-hug him and speak as she cried.

"Dia! That was super scary and bad and Yotsuba doesn't want that future! How can we help their bo..bodies?! We can't put their souls in them! They're super wrinkly and bloody and they smell bad and they'll die if we do and Yotsuba will be lonely again..I don't wanna be alone!"

While Diarmuid would probably only get a vague idea of what she was talking about, it shouldn't be too hard to piece everything together.

Diarmuid does get the idea and he winces as he thinks about the horrid things she must have seen back on her world. That is part of the reason he had been so upset about her going back. There was no way she would understand what she saw and it probably terrified her not knowing.

His arms tighten around her, "I don't want you to be alone either. No one wants to be that way. It's why we are trying to find a way to fix all of that. I don't have all your answers. I don't even think Enoch has all the answers on this one, but we are trying to find them. We've been making progress. Even in the short time you were gone."

Maybe it is stretching the truth a little since progress with the collar fluid has been so slow, but they are working and small steps forward are infinitely better than nothing at all.

Sephira spotted Yotsuba on her way through the dorms and recognized her as the little girl that she met on her first day in the tower. She wasn't quite aware of what had happened, but figured that she ought to speak to her anyway. While she had had no training in handling distressed children, perhaps she could help...

"Yotsuba, correct? Do you remember me? We met in the crystal caves on my first day in the tower."

Yotsuba quickly stopped running when she saw the cool lady with blue hair. While she didn't remember her name or anything about her world, she did vaugely recall meeting her and telling her that she was cool.

Doing her best to calm down-and doing a very poor job of it-Yotsuba quickly replied.

"Yotsuba remembers! Are you okay?! Do you know about the bodies back home?!"

"Hm? I'm... fine." Sephira was never particularly good at handling people who were in a panic. But what was this about the bodies? "What do you mean, about the bodies back home? Please explain."

Edgeworth knew that Yotsuba had gone the moment he saw her grave. How could fate be cruel enough to make a small child like that go through so much? First, her home was destroyed and she was brought to a tower to be constantly tortured and killed. Then she suddenly disappeared to....her dead world?

No child should have to go through such terrible ordeals. And....vanish like that, either.

Edgeworth did not see the familiar figure suddenly bump into him - he was busy glancing at a couple of notes he had written. And so....

"Oooooof!"

Yeah, you nearly knocked him over, Yotsuba.

And sadly, Yotsuba was running around too quickly to really stop for anyone that was in the middle of her path. But at least she had found someone that she was looking for! So, quickly, Yotsuba tried to hug his legs and sobbed.

"Mr. Edgy...that was bad! It was super scary and Daddy and Fuka and Ena and Asagi and Mommy were dead and their bodies were weird and smelled really bad! We can't leave them like that, or they'll die again and I'll be sad and lonely! Did you know about them?! How can we help?!"

I AM SORRY YOTSUBA I REALLY AM.

Unfortunately, 'Mr. Edgy' did not take in Yotsuba's words at first as the moment Yotsuba tried to hug him, he tried and failed to move his leg out of the way before Yotsuba put her arms around it. He was not used to physical contact further than a handshake and therefore could not help but give a little yelp of shock.
