[Christmas Party Log] || [I wish you a Merry Christmas~] || [Open]

Characters: Everyone ever.
Setting: Floor 38- On Christmas Eve and Christmas.
Format: Action or prose, whichever format you prefer.
Summary: CHRISTMAS PARTY! Now that the Jason!Flu is finally over, all the characters can celebrate Christmas in peace (nearly?) and eat some acceptable food that was cooked by the volunteers. The 38th floor is, as usual, the floor where the party happens and has been entirely decorated for Christmas. The Christmas Party will be open for Christmas Eve and the entirety of Christmas. For characters who wouldn't check this floor, the party has been advertised on the network.

As is usual with these party logs, it's free game! Feel free to post a mingle thread for your character as they spend time in the party or an activity (singing, dancing? playing game? gift giving? anything). Add to that, you're free to start as many threads as you want, be they open or closed! Please put in the header your character's name or the activity's name. If a prompt is closed, then please make sure to write it in the header too!

Warning: Fun times?

The lounge on the 38th floor has been entirely decorated with ribbons, tinsels, Christmas balls and many other things- All hand-made of course. The first thing that can probably be noticed upon entering is the majestic Christmas Tree sitting near the entrance, decorated as well and with wrapped boxes at its feet. There are a lot of empty spaces in the room for people to dance if so they wish as well as empty tables to organize games or sit down, in short everything needed to run an activity. Oh, and there is mistletoe hung at the floor's entrances. Nothing bad really.

Most important there is a lot of food in here, placed on a couple tables. Most of that food comes from the tower's restaurant-- Someone must have done a lot of work for the tower these last days. At least here and now you don't have to risk a limb to get some quality food. Aside from the restaurant food there are also cakes, yule logs as well as many cooked meats and fruits.

Last but not least, this floor isn't as cold here as the rest of the tower. There are a total of what appears to be four fireplaces (hand-made as all the other decorations) in the room, one against each of the walls with fires lit within them. Of course these are not exactly normal fires and a lot of resources and energy has been spent to make them so they will last for the entirety of the party- After this they will be unusable, but at least until then they will keep the room at a normal temperature.

[ That question caused Haldir to frown somewhat. ]

Why not, I ask of you? Are the changing of the seasons so frequent that they should be ignored by those who should welcome them? Is the moon ever so constant in its glow that it should never excite us?

[ The elf sighed. He figured that human culture differed greatly from that of the Elves, but this was honestly a tad shocking for him. At least the Men of Middle-earth believed in some of the cultures that the Elves partook within. ]

The land, the water, the skies above and even the stars are most important to us. Our world is a thing of beauty, but without care or even love it shan't flourish. We welcome the passing Seasons as we would welcome an old friend to our humble homes. We give thanks to both the Moon and Sun, and bid them farewell in hopes of seeing them again.

Is this truly so foreign in your culture?

[chaos sighed and smiled, but that smile looked even more melancholy than before. He had mostly asked the question to redirect any interest the elf had in him to make the elf talk about himself. However..that had backfired. chaos knew about celebrations like that all too well, even if the people in his universe had mostly forgotten about them.]

Forgive me. I did not mean to offend you. I understand how you feel, and I am happy that you cherish your world and celebrate every aspect of it. In the past, the people in my universe did that to Earth, their homeland..but they soon abandoned those practices and moved on to other things. Eventually..Earth vanished, and the people who lived on it migrated to the stars and other worlds. There, all traces of the past were lost or forgotten.

[And pardon chaos as he takes a huge swig of wine. He did not need to talk about this now. Not when he was already semi-mourning the loss of dear friends and Mary.]

[ The slight rage he felt was washed away quickly once chaos spoke of the culture lost to his people. It was then that Haldir realized the purpose behind chaos' questioning, and why the boy seemed so intrigued with the Way of the Elves. Wishing he could take back his heated words, the elf sighed softly and leaned forward to pat chaos gently upon his shoulder. ]

Easy there. [ His tone was drenched with concern. ] Drink too much and you'll make yourself sick.

[chaos looked a little less sad when Haldir patted him on the shoulder and spoke to him. He nodded to the elf.]

Thank you..but you shouldn't worry. I do not get drunk that easily.

[If only he could..]

Are you certain? Alcohol is sometimes considered a rather devilish brew.

[ He said this with a sly smirk. ]

Best to be careful, chaos, or else I may have to repay a favor sooner than later.

[Okay, despite the holiday, chaos couldn't help but lightly chuckle at that. chaos liked a good game and liked to tease people every now and then. Considering the holiday, both were in order.]

I do not think you have to worry. I do not expect people to repay me for helping them..and I have dealt with worse devils than alcohol.

[chaos smiled a little as he spoke.]

However, if you'll indulge me, I would like to play a small drinking game. The first person to fall on the floor loses.

[ The elf blinked his eyes slowly. ]

A drinking game? [ Haldir frowned somewhat. ] Is this wise?

Might be older than you seem, but you are still a child.

...Perhaps not, but a holiday like this needs a fun game or two to take the edge off it.

[That smile grew a little. Haldir, you're actually managing to pull chaos out of his Christmas-funk. Congratulations!]

..I am not a child. My name is chaos. However, if you do not want to participate, I shall not force you to.

[chaos will then finish off his glass, go to refill it, and walk back next to Haldir, looking no worse for the wear.]
