Setting: Floor 38- On Christmas Eve and Christmas.
Format: Action or prose, whichever format you prefer.
Summary: CHRISTMAS PARTY! Now that the Jason!Flu is finally over, all the characters can celebrate Christmas in peace (nearly?) and eat some acceptable food that was cooked by the volunteers. The 38th floor is, as usual, the floor where the party happens and has been entirely decorated for Christmas. The Christmas Party will be open for Christmas Eve and the entirety of Christmas. For characters who wouldn't check this floor, the party has been advertised on the network.

As is usual with these party logs, it's free game! Feel free to post a mingle thread for your character as they spend time in the party or an activity (singing, dancing? playing game? gift giving? anything). Add to that, you're free to start as many threads as you want, be they open or closed! Please put in the header your character's name or the activity's name. If a prompt is closed, then please make sure to write it in the header too!

The lounge on the 38th floor has been entirely decorated with ribbons, tinsels, Christmas balls and many other things- All hand-made of course. The first thing that can probably be noticed upon entering is the majestic Christmas Tree sitting near the entrance, decorated as well and with wrapped boxes at its feet. There are a lot of empty spaces in the room for people to dance if so they wish as well as empty tables to organize games or sit down, in short everything needed to run an activity. Oh, and there is mistletoe hung at the floor's entrances. Nothing bad really.

Most important there is a lot of food in here, placed on a couple tables. Most of that food comes from the tower's restaurant-- Someone must have done a lot of work for the tower these last days. At least here and now you don't have to risk a limb to get some quality food. Aside from the restaurant food there are also cakes, yule logs as well as many cooked meats and fruits.

Last but not least, this floor isn't as cold here as the rest of the tower. There are a total of what appears to be four fireplaces (hand-made as all the other decorations) in the room, one against each of the walls with fires lit within them. Of course these are not exactly normal fires and a lot of resources and energy has been spent to make them so they will last for the entirety of the party- After this they will be unusable, but at least until then they will keep the room at a normal temperature.

[ Data will be in the party the whole time dressed in the formal Starfleet dress uniform for ceremony. He will be wandering left and right, approaching people and looking at what's happening. Social gatherings such as this one are wonderful occasion to observe how humans behave in society (that's a big part of why he so wanted the party to be a thing). And this helps him to behave as a better human.

He tries to eat some of the food too, but. He can't tell whether it's good or not, a shame. ]

[chaos will show up a little bit late to the party, but will chat and play games with people, as well as plant the occasional kiss on the cheek when people accidentally step under the mistletoe. He doesn't mean anything by it. It's just a bit of teasing on his part. However..he'll only do this if he really knows you.

However..every now and then, he'll look a little bit more melancholy, and will secretly grab a small alcoholic beverage from the table..if there are any to be found. He will dance with people if they ask, but he will not sing. It brings back too many sad memories for him.]

*Allen's been a bit iffy about food and drink ever since that incident with the ghoul powder, but everyone else was eating and drinking here and nobody was getting sick, so avoiding it would cross the line from wariness and into paranoia, right? Besides, he needed a distraction while Shion talked to Rubedo and even if he couldn't actually get drunk, it would at least give him something to focus on.

He wasn't expecting to catch chaos sneaking a small drink, but with a bit of thought, it wasn't hard to figure out why chaos needed one too.*

Ganondorf

[ Ganondorf will be lurking throughout the party, dressed in his royal attire and mostly here for the food. So far this month he's had to either hunt or do tasks for the tower in order to get appropriate food, so he isn't about to say no if some fools give good food away freely. He'll do his best to avoid people and stay discreet though.

It is pretty much the same on the 25th, except... He is this time wearing his old Santa Claus costume from the Halloween event. Actually because he's lost a bet with someone, so he avoids people even harder. And he doesn't look particularly happy at wearing this costume again. ]

[There is no avoiding this girl. Who doesn't even know why someone decided to bring a tree inside or there are weird decorations but it seems a lot like longest night, except that has already passed. She thinks... She's sort of lost track of time. But she's not complaining, it's warm and there is food.

Either way she has no idea of the significance of Ganondorf's costume, but she bursts into laughter when she sees it.] That do be... an interesting hat.

Tohko Amano

[Freed from her terrible illness and the voices in her head, Tohko will be happily running around in a white dress on Christmas day, talking with people and handing out whatever Christmas presents she can. She'll be more than happy to talk to anyone, and will be rather chipper. Her illness, instead of beating her back, has made her appreciate her senses even more.]

*Enoch is sitting near one of the fireplaces, his cloak draped over his legs and his armor dismissed. The tower can be dangerous, but with so many people in the room, monsters can be defeated easily. Beside him is the book Tohko had given him, and in his hand, the letter.

He lowers the letter, seeming to deflate, his entire posture shifting subtly downward.*

Naminé [OU]

[Naminé's quite grateful for the opportunity to be out and about again, and even more so that there's something special going on, as well. Good timing, she supposes, but whatever the case, she'll be spending quite some time at the party while it's going on. There's a quiet sort of relief about her to see so many people okay and celebrating. She stays busy, though some of that busyness seems to be nothing more than people-watching. The decorations get special interest from her; she spends some time studying them. Though she is not inclined to dance on her own, she can probably be coaxed into involving herself in it with the right encouragement. (She may also not be aware enough to avoid the mistletoe entirely nor conscious of a reason to do so at first, but participating in that particular tradition would likely also take some encouragement and explanation.)]

[The smell of food would eventually attract April to the party, and it would be the decorations that would help prompt her to stay, as she wanders around and stares up in amazement at all the decorations, especially the tree. Of course, she will soon help herself to some food and if she stumbles across the mistletoe, she will just stare up at it in confusion.]

[Dressed in his nicest tunic and breeches, swords strapped to his back as a precaution and cloak over his shoulders, Legolas joined the party as Haldir's date. He hadn't wanted to come, still not quite as comfortable with his haircut around other people as with Haldir, but the march warden had insisted. Legolas had made sure of one thing though: his hood was up and hiding the shortened hairstyle, prideful elf that he wanted to be.

At least he had come though and he was almost pleased to have. It was kind of nice to not have been the one that had hunted and cooked food. And it was even nicer to not be half frozen, despite how tolerate he and his kin typically were.]

[ Gandalf walks over to Legolas after a while-- he hadn't talked to his elvish friend in a little while. Of course he did immediately notice the hairs, but if his benevolent smile meant anything, it's not something that matters much to him. ]

Legolas my friend.

[ Gandalf stops next to him and turn back to look at the party, taking an empty glass. ]

I see you have gone through yet more misadventure.

Haldir

[ The only reason Haldir would ever voluntarily go to a party is if there's a reason for him being there. This reason being Legolas who seemed so against the idea of going anywhere near people since his little "accident" a few days ago.

While the march warden honestly thought Legolas looked rather decent with his hair a tad shorter than usual, the silly prince was incline to disagree. Thus why Haldir decided to drag Legolas out to this fancy little party in hopes of amending Legolas' wounded pride. He wanted to prove once and for all that no one could ever think of the younger elf as "homely".

Yet, because of Haldir's noble deed, he's now stuck here dressed in pale green silk robes holding a glass of whatever punch or wine they have this evening. Haldir never does well at parties, never. He hates parties and he hates attending parties, but for Legolas' sake he'll make due and prove to the elf that his chopped locks aren't hideous. ]

[Walking alongside Haldir, silvery hood pulled over his head, the prince looked around the party with a faint smile. It was rather festive even if the holiday, traditions and decor were completely unfamiliar to him. Although, it almost reminded him of the celebrations in Mirkwood and made him feel a bit homesick for a moment if he hadn't taken a glance at Haldir.

He was terribly underdressed in comparison to the march warden, a fact which secretly pleased him though he made no effort to hide his smirk. Hoping their connection strong enough, Legolas thought:

Shion Uzuki and Allen Ridgeley~

[After helping with the setup, and being sure to avoid chaos, Shion left for a short time. She headed to her room, to put on her old Vector uniform, as it was a little nicer than her normal clothes. Plus, it didn't have a big, scorched hole punched through the back of it.

Then she set off to find Allen. She managed to do that fairly easily, and in no time at all, she was back, arm in arm with him.]

*For once, Allen was just Allen. He'd changed into his own Vector uniform, then put up a general illusion so that even supernatural senses would register him as human. Only the small handful of people who already knew he was something more or those whose minds he simply couldn't affect would be able to tell he was anything other than normal.

Then Shion had insisted on holding onto his arm. He was a little apprehensive about the idea, still not sure how close he should let himself get to Shion, but...well, maybe he could forget about the whole Testament thing for a day, as his Christmas present to the both of them. So arm in arm it was as they walked into the relative warmth of the lounge.*

Lucifer

[In the corner of the room is a young man dressed in a fine suit with a cap over his head. He's taken one of the acoustic guitars from the music room, which he's strumming on aimlessly for a moment. Even though the progression of chords seems aimless it still manages to keep a pleasant melody. It's as if the man can't help but produce decent music, even if he isn't trying.

Lucifer keeps quiet, just strumming a bit in his corner. To him it's far more interesting to hear and see the conversations going on then to participate in them himself, though he would if someone came to speak with him.

Otherwise, he's happy to just sit there playing.]

[Hearing this person-who was a being that was like him in some ways, if his senses were correct-strum a guitar in the corner, chaos decided to dance a little bit to the melody. Some dancing might cheer him and everyone else up, and it was something that was part of the holiday.

So, Lucifel will see chaos dancing to his music. He's not bad at dancing, but he is rusty in some places, and it might give a feeling of nostalgia and sadness at times.]

[Taiki didn't celebrate Christmas himself, his earth parents had been quite traditional and such a holiday didn't exist in the Twelve Kingdoms, but he knew what the party was for and wondered who had made all the decorations and done the searching for the food.

He stuck to the edges of the crowd, watching warily, a little to shy to make conversation with anyone.]

[Well, Riku does make a point of not moving around too much just yet, but... his stance on the Santa issue aside, he is quite alright with this holiday. And really, it's hardly a time to spent alone - hence the decision to make his way over to Taiki once he spots him.

The exhaustion and lingering flu symptoms from the last two weeks are likely showing just a bit in his expression, even as he smiles and waves.]

[Right at that moment Riku's petbat Highwind, flutters up from behind Riku's back, settling on his shoulder as he squeaks in greeting, grinning widely. (...Not that he rarely does anything, but grin.)]

[Nesir is to be found by one of the fires, not very close actually despite her constant complaints this month about being cold, but close enough to feel the hear without having to actually be near the fire...

She wasn't scared, fire was just dangerous. And she wasn't stupid. She has a plate full of food and is eating happily watching as people celebrate, not really knowing what festival this is at all.]

[Suzaku usually avoided parties, and he usually avoided Christmas. But he had people to check up on and so was stood in one of the corners watching the room silently, doing a headcount as he saw those he knew, gauging if they looked well or not.]

[Romeo knows about this Christmas because he was in the tower last year and him and Molly had argued about the date. But it seemed everyone except him celebrated Christmas now and not after the year had changed.

He grabbed some food, he was finally better though he was a little quieter than normal, the illness and the added effects had taken a lot out of him. Still he searched the room for people he knew, and people he didn't. To make sure everyone was okay! And having fun, because it was Christmas (sort of) and the bad people couldn't be allowed to ruin it (again)!]

[While grabbing some food, Romeo might see his teacher standing at the food table, sniffing and tapping various plates on the table. She was trying to decide what to eat, but she wasn't quite sure what was put out here sometimes-using just your nose and your fingers to identify foods was hard sometimes. However, when she heard someone walk next to her, she stopped and turned towards the noise.]

Oh, hello! I'm sorry..since I can't see, I'm not sure if we've met before, but if we haven't, it's nice to meet you! Merry Christmas!

Chihiro Fujisaki

[Chihiro looks round the party venue with wide eyes. Are all these things real? Look at all that food and it's so warm in here!

He quickly fills a plate with food and goes over to examine the Christmas tree, wondering if the presents are real too.]

[Kazumi is equally excited, and bearing a plate piled high with food as she comes over]

Ahh, Chihiro! Hehe... isn't this all amazing?

Sayaka Maizono

[ And here is one of the resident top idols, who surely couldn't miss the chance to join the party the best way she could: by setting a stage and singing! The pink frilly dress the tower made her find upon arrival couldn't be anymore perfect for this occasion, as she wears it with pride. Using whatever they could gather from the media and music room, she's rocking the stage with songs from her repertory, which I can't link because her canon is cruel and there isn't any at disposal.

Needless to say, her performance is flawless. She wasn't given the title of Super High School Level Idol for nothing! Sayaka has completely healed from the flu, and not feeling cold for once lifted her spirits quite a bit. Giving people the strength to smile in the face of adversity is the job of an idol after all. If she can at least cheer one person up with her singing, then that's great enough.

Later on, after the little concert, she'll be all over the place, greeting and chatting whoever she sees on her way, whether they're strangers or friends or acquaintances. Everyone deserves a "hi" and a sweet smile. ]

[ Doc is wearing his most flashy 2015-era costume and is walking around, eating a bit. Also it's much warmer than his lab and Christmas is always a good period of the year, so why not having a bit of fun?

Staying far away from any alcohol drink though. ]

[ The white wizard can be found near the tables, not eating much and mostly observing the party rather than participating. He's looking fairly good and keeps an eye out to make certain no troublemaker ruins the party.

Oh and if there are children, he'll make some mini-fireworks and ships out of smoke if only to amuse them. ]

[ This "kid" will be mostly lurking near the fires (it's so warm) and near the food. Especially near the food since he feels as though he didn't eat something normal in years. ...As a matter of fact, he does eat a lot. Probably too much for someone his size, but there's plenty of food so it's okay. ]

[As Jr. is eating more food, he'll feel a hand on his shoulder and find chaos standing over him. chaos will warm him up with his power and smile, but he'll look a bit sad.]

[It's been too long since Riku's had any substantial food. Though the decorations entice him and the company's sure fine, his first stop's the food table. Though, uh, give him a second while he muffles a cough.

When he's not grabbing up grub, he can be found investigating al those decorations and maybe doing a tiny bit of mingling. Unfortunately, he's still not the most social guy. Someone may have to prod him to get him in the cheery Christmas mood.]

[ He had arrived shortly after the party had gotten well underway, drained and tired, welcoming the warmth that rushed into the room, and really hadn't felt up to what he usually would have done in a social activity—wandered throughout the room and chatted up people and played a few of the games.

So, you'll find him sitting down next to one of the fireplaces, back bumped up against the surface of the wall, surveying the room with a critical eye (yep, gonna ignore his memories of the hallucinations. Ignore, ignore, ignore. Total denial of the hallucinations having ever occurred here, okay.) There's a place full of decent food, a slice of cake, a soda beside him and honestly, all Hidetoshi feels like doing is staying here, enjoying the atmosphere, and relishing in being properly warm for what seemed to be the first time in ages.

... Obviously, this means you should come over and bug him. ]

[There is a nod of acknowledgement only once from the room mate (who hasn't been there for a few days) from across the room by the windows.

Sephiroth isn't the social type, especially not today. He doesn't want to stray anywhere near the fireplaces either, preferring the fact that he can go back to not being bothered much by how chilly it is.]

Saber (Alter)

[Greatcloak about her shoulders, Saber was picking through a large plate of food with gusto. She still maintained her manners - mostly - but one would not think someone of her stature could put away so much food. The contents of her plate were quickly disappearing.]

[Kazumi's not eating quite as much or as fast, but relatively speaking, she's almost putting away as much as Saber is given her even smaller size. She feels a bit bad she didn't help cook any of this, but after a month of Nutrition Bars and berries and the occasional animal Saber brought in, it's too amazing to have so much food around again!]

Frodo Baggins

[ frodo is familiar with parties. after all, he is a hobbit, and of bag end, no less! the last true party he recalls still, and always will be bilbo's 111th birthday (and his 50th ). those days seem so long ago.

so much has happened.

still, if you haven't run over him or stepped on him, you'll find the hobbit seated by one of the fireplaces, a few things on his plate, ( it's a curious thing when a hobbit does not eat 7 meals a day ) and a misty look in his eyes. there's a faint smile on his lips as if remembering another time.

when he isn't sitting, he'll muster the energy to look for familiar faces. he did after all, help provide some recipes. then again, this fire is very warm. it's been long even in his travels since they could have use of a fire. the closer one drew to mordor, the more light was banished in the dark places. ]

[After some time, a fair elven-looking woman will approach the fireplace Frodo is seated by, a plate of her own food in hand. She tilts her head at him, in question, but smiles in a friendly way.]

Would you mind another joining you by the fire?

Kariya Matou

[He doesn't have a great deal of strength or much appetite, but he can enjoy the decorations and the atmosphere. It's nice, for people to come together like this, to have a good time. He smiles, glad of the warmth and the company.

He has his camera with him, one of the few things he'd found in his trunk upon arriving in the Tower. Though he doesn't want to use up too much film, he's looking for things to photograph. It'll be nice to have a memento of one of the nicer things that's happened here, especially when times grow difficult again.]

[MOMO notices a flash go off, and follows it to a peculiar source. It's not so much the idea that someone is taking pictures that fascinates her so much as the camera itself, though. Digital cameras, much less cameras that use film, are only ever found in the dusty attics of the most backwater junk stores in her time. They're archaic, to say the least.]

Is that a... film camera?

[Her eyes light up in a way that's kind of unusual for such a seemingly simple object. But man, this is like a piece of ancient history in action here.]

Wow, and it really works, too! Are you going to do anything with the pictures?

[Off to the side, a young blonde woman with pointed ears sits, playing her harp as entertainment when the others providing music draw silent. Around her, little spheres of glowing golden light float and twinkle in time to the music - something that might seem a bit familiar to those who were there for that one "friendship party" so many months ago.

Sure, she may not know exactly what this celebration's about, but she knows a morale-booster when she sees one, especially with the presence of good food and warmth, and this time around she's feeling spirited enough to help it along.]

[After eating some food, Tohko wandered around, trying not to bump into anything, and heard someone playing a harp beautifully. While she didn't dance to it, she did draw closer to the sound and closed her eyes, taking in the harp. Zelda is free to speak with her, but Tohko isn't going to bother whoever is playing the instrument. She doesn't want to break their concentration.]
