Characters: Everyone ever.
Setting: Floor 38- On Christmas Eve and Christmas.
Format: Action or prose, whichever format you prefer.
Summary: CHRISTMAS PARTY! Now that the Jason!Flu is finally over, all the characters can celebrate Christmas in peace (nearly?) and eat some acceptable food that was cooked by the volunteers. The 38th floor is, as usual, the floor where the party happens and has been entirely decorated for Christmas. The Christmas Party will be open for Christmas Eve and the entirety of Christmas. For characters who wouldn't check this floor, the party has been advertised on the network.

As is usual with these party logs, it's free game! Feel free to post a mingle thread for your character as they spend time in the party or an activity (singing, dancing? playing game? gift giving? anything). Add to that, you're free to start as many threads as you want, be they open or closed! Please put in the header your character's name or the activity's name. If a prompt is closed, then please make sure to write it in the header too!

The lounge on the 38th floor has been entirely decorated with ribbons, tinsels, Christmas balls and many other things- All hand-made of course. The first thing that can probably be noticed upon entering is the majestic Christmas Tree sitting near the entrance, decorated as well and with wrapped boxes at its feet. There are a lot of empty spaces in the room for people to dance if so they wish as well as empty tables to organize games or sit down, in short everything needed to run an activity. Oh, and there is mistletoe hung at the floor's entrances. Nothing bad really.

Most important there is a lot of food in here, placed on a couple tables. Most of that food comes from the tower's restaurant-- Someone must have done a lot of work for the tower these last days. At least here and now you don't have to risk a limb to get some quality food. Aside from the restaurant food there are also cakes, yule logs as well as many cooked meats and fruits.

Last but not least, this floor isn't as cold here as the rest of the tower. There are a total of what appears to be four fireplaces (hand-made as all the other decorations) in the room, one against each of the walls with fires lit within them. Of course these are not exactly normal fires and a lot of resources and energy has been spent to make them so they will last for the entirety of the party- After this they will be unusable, but at least until then they will keep the room at a normal temperature.

I had to learn to know how to feel killing intent. Otherwise, I would have died several times over already. [Catarina raised her hand, cupping it over Saber's] I enjoy learning to read you.

I am unsure if I feel the same. I have already entrusted you with something I should not have.

[Was it a moment of weakness or of something else that had prompted her to give the succubus her true name?]

... I understand. It's a deeper part of you than most know, isn't it. We seem to be drawn to do so.

[She closed her eyes and tilted her head back.]

The king is lonely. The king has always been lonely, for the king could not waver, could not show emotion, and must be impartial, dutiful and honorable. And the king did his duty.

A king is one who must kill everyone to save everyone.

To be a good king, he must not let others get close enough to sway him. [How much Saber didn't want to be king anymore, but she could not stop being one. Her eyes open.]

And I gave you my name.

[Catarina listened to this, her arms folded as she thought. Then, she leaned forward, taking Saber's hand]

Perhaps this is a place for rest, Saber. To be merely a warrior and a woman, instead of a king. The one I find myself drawn to... is not quite one that can rule me, but rather can be someone I can speak with about... well, these such things. About life, our role in things... speak on a level such as this. Not as a subject to a ruler.

If only that were so. This is not Avalon. I have too many enemies here, another War rests upon the horizon, and I have never been a woman.

[She takes a deep breath.]

But it is true that you are no subject of mine and I make no move to rule over you. Nor shall I.

Perhaps when you can rest, you can be allowed to be you, rather than a King. [Catarina leaned in, giving her a soft, gentle kiss before pulling completely away and standing]

... of course, you still have food, and I am not rude enough to keep you from filling your belly.

[When she can finally rest, she won't be a king anymore. She won't even exist. But she doesn't let any of that show, a pleased hum accompanying the kiss.]

I thank you for that. Perhaps you and I can spend some time together on the eve of the new year.

That is coming soon? I certainly would enjoy being with you during that time, my Saber.

In a week's time. I am referring to the solar new year. I am of Britain, so the lunar new year is not something I am accustomed to celebrating.

But there are plenty of floors in this Tower that can be quite peaceful with the right company.

Indeed. A bit of peaceful time with one that I enjoy... that would certainly be nice.

[She looked as if something about those words didn't agree with her, that was slightly pained]

Hm. And have a good day.

[Sorry, Catarina. Saber is Christian - though she does still heed the older religion at times - so it never occurs to her that it might not be a good idea to wish her anything regarding Christmas. And it doesn't even look like she realizes where that pained expression came from. But she doesn't question, turning her attention back to her food.]
