[Christmas Party Log] || [I wish you a Merry Christmas~] || [Open]

Characters: Everyone ever.
Setting: Floor 38- On Christmas Eve and Christmas.
Format: Action or prose, whichever format you prefer.
Summary: CHRISTMAS PARTY! Now that the Jason!Flu is finally over, all the characters can celebrate Christmas in peace (nearly?) and eat some acceptable food that was cooked by the volunteers. The 38th floor is, as usual, the floor where the party happens and has been entirely decorated for Christmas. The Christmas Party will be open for Christmas Eve and the entirety of Christmas. For characters who wouldn't check this floor, the party has been advertised on the network.

As is usual with these party logs, it's free game! Feel free to post a mingle thread for your character as they spend time in the party or an activity (singing, dancing? playing game? gift giving? anything). Add to that, you're free to start as many threads as you want, be they open or closed! Please put in the header your character's name or the activity's name. If a prompt is closed, then please make sure to write it in the header too!

Warning: Fun times?

The lounge on the 38th floor has been entirely decorated with ribbons, tinsels, Christmas balls and many other things- All hand-made of course. The first thing that can probably be noticed upon entering is the majestic Christmas Tree sitting near the entrance, decorated as well and with wrapped boxes at its feet. There are a lot of empty spaces in the room for people to dance if so they wish as well as empty tables to organize games or sit down, in short everything needed to run an activity. Oh, and there is mistletoe hung at the floor's entrances. Nothing bad really.

Most important there is a lot of food in here, placed on a couple tables. Most of that food comes from the tower's restaurant-- Someone must have done a lot of work for the tower these last days. At least here and now you don't have to risk a limb to get some quality food. Aside from the restaurant food there are also cakes, yule logs as well as many cooked meats and fruits.

Last but not least, this floor isn't as cold here as the rest of the tower. There are a total of what appears to be four fireplaces (hand-made as all the other decorations) in the room, one against each of the walls with fires lit within them. Of course these are not exactly normal fires and a lot of resources and energy has been spent to make them so they will last for the entirety of the party- After this they will be unusable, but at least until then they will keep the room at a normal temperature.

Really? That must've been something to see.

[Though he really doesn't know what Kariya's abilities are besides that they have to do with worms.]

Get them something exciting. Kids like that type of stuff.

[He's just gonna go upstairs instead of down. Taking the elevator seems to be easier and quicker.]

[personal profile] vermicompost 2013-01-07 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I saved him. Like I saved Rin. I don't want any more children to be harmed.

[He sounds a little proud for once, wiping more blood away.]

I'll try to find something exciting– but not too exciting.

[He'd been something of a timid child himself, and he knew that there could be too much of a good thing.]
puppy_lancer: <user name=cu-chulainn> (there for me.)

[personal profile] puppy_lancer 2013-01-07 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
[Lancer is hurrying up the floors, but not too quickly. He doesn't know if Kariya's frail body can withstand the speed.]

Like what? One of those science fiction stories? Maybe one about righting aliens? Or how about you tell them about the time you saved Rin?
vermicompost: (thirty-two)

[personal profile] vermicompost 2013-01-07 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
Right, science fiction. I'd like that. But not too much fighting. Maybe a story about a robot who learns to be human.

[The conversation manages to distract him, and he calms, remembering the stories he used to like reading.]

I can't tell them that story. It's too scary. [He can't tell them about the murderers who'd killed so many children.] And I didn't do enough.

[personal profile] puppy_lancer 2013-01-07 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
A robot learning to be human? I guess...some adults would like it as well. I think we have this one android here.

[Or they did. He hasn't seen her around lately.]

[At least Kariya seems better now.]

You saved the girl you wanted to save. Shouldn't it be enough?
vermicompost: (forty-six)

[personal profile] vermicompost 2013-01-07 06:35 am (UTC)(link)
I met her. A girl made of metal. I never thought I'd meet a real android. But there are lots of different science fiction stories. I'll have to look for some children would like.

[Kariya considers that question.]

At the time, I thought it was. But her friend died. And so many other children died. And I didn't do anything.

[More blood leaks from his eye. He's good at blaming himself for things.]
puppy_lancer: <user name=cu-chulainn> (as the leaves grow on the tree)

[personal profile] puppy_lancer 2013-01-07 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Did she ever tell you to save her friend? I mean, if you didn't know, then it's not as bad.

[Given Kariya's condition, it was probably a miracle he had been able to fish both himself and Rin out of whatever mess they were in intact.]
vermicompost: (nineteen)

[personal profile] vermicompost 2013-01-07 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I didn't know. I only knew she was in danger. All I could think of was that I had to save her. But maybe I should have tried to do something else.

[Along with determination, self-recrimination is another of his talents. ]

Caster– His Master's here– He's the one who was going to kill her. One of his monsters.

[personal profile] puppy_lancer 2013-01-08 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
That man is here?

[Well, add another one to his to-kill list.]

What does he look like? Does he have his Servant.

[It would be easy to find him at Rider's meeting, but he couldn't kill him there.]
vermicompost: (fifty-one)

[personal profile] vermicompost 2013-01-08 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Someone else was talking about him on the network, warning people. He's a young man with red hair. He's the child murderer.

[Kariya sounds disgusted as he says the words.]

I don't know if his Servant is here. I don't think so? [But how can he be sure when new people appear all the time? The thought unnerves him.] But I can't be sure.
puppy_lancer: <user name=cu-chulainn> (with little snow-white feet)

[personal profile] puppy_lancer 2013-01-08 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh yeah. Lancer had talked about breaking his limbs and feeding him oatmeal enemas. Fun times.]

Tch. Guess I'll know if I see him. What's this Caster look like then? If I run into either of them again, they're dead.
vermicompost: (eighteen)

This Christmas party sure took a turn

[personal profile] vermicompost 2013-01-08 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know. I was busy with other things during the War. I didn't see him.

[Mainly, he was focused on fighting Tokiomi.]

I'm glad you'll kill them. They deserve to die. I'll kill them too, if I can.

[The usually gentle Kariya's face distorts, and he leaks a little more blood at this, as his anger rises. The liquid pours down from his ear.]
puppy_lancer: <user name=fateslaying> (I'll simply sleep in peace)

Have a very wormy Christmas

[personal profile] puppy_lancer 2013-01-08 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
[Alright, that was it. He couldn't go on any further. He had to find some way to stabilize Kariya now.]

Not if you drop dead first.

[He stops and starts kneeling down, shifting his hold on Kariya so Lancer can hold him propped up on one arm.]

Hey, I'm gonna use my runes on you, okay? Stop up that bleeding, if anything.
vermicompost: (twenty-three)

And a wormy New Year!

[personal profile] vermicompost 2013-01-08 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
I won't die. I can't.

[He struggles briefly, momentarily confused, then stills, remembering it's Lancer carrying him.]

Runes? What are you doing? [His face continues to leak blood. It seems to be coming from his pores now.]
puppy_lancer: <user name=cu-chulainn> (As all the flowers are dying)

Re: And a wormy New Year!

[personal profile] puppy_lancer 2013-01-08 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
It's magecraft.

[He hadn't wanted to reveal this ability of his, but this is an emergency.]

I'm gonna try to heal you.

[First comes Kenaz, the rune of sight, to allow him to take a better look at Kariya's condition. He almost recoils at the sight of the worms slithering around in the man's body. It's clear that with Lancer's level of skill, they can't be removed. He can only alleviate the symptoms, but not cure the actual cause.]
vermicompost: (thirty)

[personal profile] vermicompost 2013-01-08 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Magecraft...?

[In spite of Kariya's sometimes troubled past with magecraft, he remains still, though he's still breathing hard and bleeding. He hadn't meant to get so upset, and in his muddled state of mind, now he's not quite sure why he got so upset.]

I didn't know you could.

Be careful– they're magical, too.
puppy_lancer: <user name=cu-chulainn> (Chickenless egg)

[personal profile] puppy_lancer 2013-01-08 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
Nobody does.

[After all, it's a pretty closely guarded secret here in the Tower.]

Yeah, I will.

[He sketches more runes, these ones meant to interfere with the operation of the worms, to sedate them and keep them from acting up during the healing. Next, he makes runes of healing and of relaxation and purification. Enough to patch over Kariya's burst veins and restore some of his energy. He hopes that this can have some effect, since it's all he can manage.]
vermicompost: (forty-nine)

[personal profile] vermicompost 2013-01-09 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
[Kariya can't do anything but watch (and bleed). His breath hitches in his throat, but he tries to stay calm and keep breathing. Lancer, meanwhile, seems so intent on his work. It's another side of the Servant that he hadn't expected to see.

He's surprised when it actually works. Not because he doubted Lancer's skill, but it's a novel feeling. He's not familiar with this kind of magecraft. The worms don't go away, and the pain doesn't disappear, but the worms still, and the pain lessens. He feels a little stronger.
]

That's better... Thank you.
puppy_lancer: <user name=maidofulster> ("Land of Song!" said the warrior bard)

[personal profile] puppy_lancer 2013-01-09 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
[He smiles in relief when he sees that Kariya seems better.]

Okay, let's get you to medical then. You might need to just get a good night's sleep.

[But he knows this isn't a problem that simple sleep can cure. Sooner or later, Kariya was going to need to find a person who could remove the worms from him.]
vermicompost: (fifty-two)

[personal profile] vermicompost 2013-01-09 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
No, I can go back to my room. I'll be all right now. I don't want to stay in the clinic. [It's cold and alienating there, not that that isn't true of much of the Tower, but at least his bed is his, in a way.]
puppy_lancer: the-man-of-light@tumblr (When my poor heart you first beguiled)

[personal profile] puppy_lancer 2013-01-09 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
[He tsks his tongue, almost as if he is minding a pentulant child. But he still complies with Kariya's request. Any bed is the same as long as the man can get some rest. The clinic just had better access to medications.]

Fine, you room it is then.
vermicompost: (three)

[personal profile] vermicompost 2013-01-09 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you... [Most of the medications didn't help, at least not much, in the long run. They made him feel drugged and tired. (And more than that, Kariya was stubborn about taking them.) The worms were resistant. Magic had more of an effect on them.]

Wait– where's my camera?

[In all the excitement, he appears to have dropped it.]
puppy_lancer: <user name=cu-chulainn> (She bid me take life easy)

[personal profile] puppy_lancer 2013-01-09 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Camera?

[Oh yeah, Kariya had one before Lancer had scooped him up.]

How about we go look for it in the morning? Or ask for it back if anyone swiped it?
vermicompost: (twenty-eight)

[personal profile] vermicompost 2013-01-10 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, that's fine. We can do that. I still have my photograph, so it's all right. [He reaches into his pocket to make sure it's still there. The camera doesn't matter as much.]

I just don't have very much from home.
puppy_lancer: from <user name=aicons> (When summer's in the meadow)

[personal profile] puppy_lancer 2013-01-10 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think any of us do.

[He probably has even less than Kariya does, seeing how he has led two lives. His trunk offered him nothing from his first life.]

So all the more likely anyone who finds it will take good care of it, right?
