[Massive Infiltration Plot] || [Semi-Open]

Characters: All the characters who signed up for this infiltration, too many to write them all here. Characters who stay behind and do not infiltrate can tag into the mingle thread.
Setting: The Cafeteria, then the Elevator's Shaft and finally the Administrative Floors. The 29th of July, in the morning.
Format: Action most likely.

Summary: A month ago Ganondorf planned an infiltration to go and pay a visit to Riki's floor-- Given what has happened these last weeks, the 'Evil Alliance' has accepted to allow Enoch and the people he gathered to use the infiltration in order to do their own thing. Namely, retrieve scientific instruments from Jason's laboratory, so as to study the Collar Fluid. The infiltration will begin on the 1st floor, the Cafeteria.

The first thread is a traditional mingle thread, happening before the infiltration and briefing begin; anyone can tag into it. The second thread is a quick briefing before the infiltration starts, where Enoch and Ganondorf will explain to everyone what to do and what to expect in case they don't already know. Then there are the seven group threads, one for each individual team infiltrating.

Warnings: Administrative floors, danger, death, horror. Anyone tagging here is probably going to die, or at the very least meet with a terrible fate.

[Welp. That just leaves him and the kid left in the cafeteria. He kneels down at the entry point, both to get a better look at the cable and judge the distance, and to let the kid get onto his back for carrying.] Hop on, and hold on tight. This might get rough.

[Understatement of the year, once that gap has to be crossed...]

I will take care of myself. [ She almost parrots Kyoko with timing and tone. Likewise, she wants to count herself out. ]

If something should happen, do we abandon stragglers or am I to assist? [ This is really aimed only at Kyoko. She doesn't want to hesitate in that situation. Best make a concrete decision now. ]

[As they descend below the place where the cables end, they will have to handle quite a long trip down before they see anything at all. The first thing that appears is a glowing red light that they will have to pass through.]

[Kyoko shakes her head. There's not even a hint of hesitation on her face, nor in her voice. She made up her mind on that matter before coming here.]

Leave them. If they're gonna try and drag everyone else down like that, they're not worth saving. That is, unless you decide you wanna die with them.

[But of course, Homura won't. Neither of them will. Their priorities lie elsewhere in the tower.]

[Labrys glanced back at Homura and Kyoko's remarks, but thought better of starting an argument here. They were supposed to be working together, and calling someone out on a callous remark wouldn't help anything. When she did speak, she looked up to the others and did so in a cautious tone.]

Hey--there's some kinda weird lookin' light down here. We're gonna have to go past it, so you oughta be ready for an alarm or somethin'.

[With a whirring and clicking of mechanisms, Labrys' visor slid into place. Better to guard against whatever this would trigger; fire, water, acid, she couldn't begin to guess. Looking to Shepard and Amelia, she remarked:]

You two better hold on, okay? I dunno what's gonna happen, but I'll protect ya.

[Hesitating only long enough to say that much, Labrys descended past the glowing red light.]

[All superhuman abilities are disabled beyond the red light.]

[For a split second it seemed to Labrys as though her entire system had crashed--feeling not unlike a human on the brink of fainting. The sensation was gone as quickly as it had arrived, but with it went all the power to her thrusters. They went dead without so much as a flicker, leaving the three of them to start a freefall before the mechanical girl could so much as shout a warning.]

[Think. Stay calm and think, there had to be some way to stop this. She was too far from a wall to throw herself back and let her axe blades slow them down, so that was out. Ariadne had gone silent as well, and grinding her teeth together, Labrys was on her own for what to do.]

Don't panic--! [Her voice was strained and shouted over the rushing sound of their descent, mind racing--there had to be something she could grab onto, right? At the very least there had to be more cable at some point in here.] Just hang on, I'll find somethin' to stop with...!

[As they descend towards the light, Amelia speaks in a somewhat quieter tone of voice, mostly remarking to herself.] Hn. At least I know who doesn't have my ba-

[And that's when her train of thought is abruptly and violently derailed by the fact they're now in a very rapid freefall, and although slight, she can feel the extra strength from her Energy Ring cut out. More alarmingly though is the fact they're now falling very, very quickly.]

Oh shit...! [That actually got her to swear, and quite loudly at that. But her mind is already scrambling, racing for some idea. Without something to grab onto, her only real idea is to let go of Labrys and start drawing the monster sword they'd been given, twisting around before swinging the blade straight at the wall in the hopes that it might find something to catch on or at least start slowing herself down. Presuming it slows her slightly, she'll even try planting an armored boot against the wall for a bit of extra drag, immensely thankful for her armor right about now.]

[The fall is rapid but they cover a lot of distance with it before the cables arc out of the walls and reappear. The cables are already slick with blood in places, and grabbing on probably won't be fun, but it may be possible. Amelia's attempts create a shower of sparks as the sword is dragged down the elevator shaft, but between it and her armored boot she does manage to slow down to some degree.]

[Her heart is pounding at a million miles an hour but despite that she manages to do a remarkably good job of keeping a level head, even in a situation this dangerous. Turning her head slightly she notices the cables have resumed, and with one small glance downwards she realizes the only way she's getting through this alive is to go for it. But she gives herself a few extra seconds to size up the jump and think about how she's going to do this.

Ideally she'd have both hands free for this, but one hand is busy with a sword so she'll simply have to make do. Steadying herself as best as she can she brings her other foot up, planting both boots into the wall before mustering every last ounce of strength she can to kick herself off of the wall and towards the cables, reaching out towards it with her free hand and trying to grab onto one. And right about now she is immensely thankful for what armor she has, hoping the armor on her hands, torso, shoulders and boots will do something because this is not going to be pleasant.

At least she's pretty sure she's not going to skin her hand.]

[Luck seems to be smiling on Amelia today--while her arm is yanked quite painfully, most of the damage of the cable is absorbed by her armor. Aside from the pain and soreness her arm is sure to suffer, she is unharmed.]

[She isn't the only one keeping a level head through out this entire mess, thank the stars. She hasn't quite been in enough situations where she was falling down, but being hurled around by the occasional biotic Throw and being carried away by biotic Pulls had a very similar feeling to what was happening now -- just a lot less helpless floating and more gravity being a harsh as hell mistress.

Either way, she's got more luck with regards to her hands, so as soon as she sees the wires again, Shepard reaches out to try and hold onto one and slow her fall. Her armor, ideally, would keep her from getting her own hands skinned too -- there's just the problem of the blood...if it actually comes up as she makes her attempt, at least.]

[Shepar's arms are wrenched painfully--there's probably some tearing of muscle--but the effect is minor as far as actual injuries go. She slides a little on the blood on the cables, but not enough to cause her to slip down entirely.]

[The problem for Labrys was twofold; one, without her amplified strength Shepard was kind of heavy. Two, she didn't have armor or gloves. But she reached out with her free hand and grabbed the cable as tightly as she could; her hand would definitely be damaged and her arm likely pulled or dislocated if they stopped sharply enough, but there wasn't much in the way of other options.]

[Labrys's arm is torn off at the shoulder.]

[There was a very odd sensation to that--a sharp and clear sense of pain that was entirely human in ways Labrys didn't have the presence of mind to describe. Black oil stained her clothes in place of blood, disconnected wires dangling from her uniform's sleeve. With a loud, pained scream, Labrys let go of Shepard and fell for a second or two before instinctively reaching to try again with her remaining hand; without the extra weight, she distantly thought maybe she'd have a chance.]

[Labrys slides down the cable a ways--the portion she grabs is wet with blood and oil--but she hands on, though the cable wraps around one of her legs.]

[Alright. Alright, she thinks she's got this. Taking a second to just cling to the cable and make sure she's not about to plummet to her death she eventually plants her feet against the wall for some extra stability, thankful for all that training she did back home. That upper body strength is coming in damned handy right now.

Sheathing the monster sword so she can grab onto the cable with both hands she suddenly looks down when she hears Labrys scream, frowning intensely. If something's gone wrong, there isn't much she can actually do from up here and that worries her a great deal.]

Is everyone alright?!

Shit!

[Suffice to say, the jerking in her muscles was very unwelcome; she was damn well sure something got torn as she grabbed on. Thankfully it's not enough to actually force her to let go -- it wasn't anywhere near as bad as what could have happened -- but it takes her a moment or two to settle before she looks down at Labrys and sees the bad shape she's in.

Doesn't take her longer than two seconds to make a call on this, too.]

I'm fine, but you might want to get down here and quick!

[He nods at Terra, then climbs onto his back, an unusual experience. He can't remember being carried before, and he is unsure of how he feels about trusting his safety to another, used to working alone. Yet he holds on to Terra's back without difficulty, situating himself carefully, so as not to impede the man's movements..]

Thank you.

[He continues to listen to the others speaking, as he's gathering intelligence. He hears them in the shaft.]

I am prepared.

No problem. [He stands back up, and finds himself grimacing at the commotion he's hearing from the elevator shaft.

Well, time to go. He nods once, and without further words, jumps into the elevator shaft, grabs hold of the cable, and starts the descent.

Once he reaches the part where the cable cuts off, he breaks the silence.] Whatever happens, don't let go.

[Letting go, and... yep, in typical Square-derp fashion, he's running down the wall and letting gravity help with the descent.

If you're going to go out, at least do it with some flair?]

Jeez...somehow we ended up being the last ones to go. Well, at least this way we don't have to worry about having some idiot drop on one of us, y'know.

[Kyoko spares Homura a glance as she says this, sliding down to the bottom of the cable. She waits several seconds, giving the pair a suitable head start to eliminate any risk of crashing into him before jumping off the cord and begins jumping from wall to wall as she descends the elevator shaft and moves towards the red light.]

[ Homura flinches. The commotion she's hearing almost gets her to leap ahead and try to help, but she keeps her feet firmly rooted. There is no point in such a risk. They're here to get equipment, not to keep each other alive. ]

Be careful, Kyoko. [ The words slip out while she is trying to sort through her priorities. After giving Kyoko a head start she follows down the cord, then mimics Kyoko's jumping strategy while continuing her descent. ]

[A strangled half-sobbing noise came from Labrys as she held on for dear life with her remaining hand; there was a moment or two of only that before actual words were forced from her throat.]

I'm s-s-sorry--! I shouldn't a' l-l-let go, Shepard, are you okay?

[Tears were mostly hidden by her visor, Labrys' body shaking with pain and forcibly repressed crying as she tried not to lose it. How did humans think when they were in pain without programming and logic protocols?]

I ain't...it ain't th-that bad. Not like I'm gonna b-bleed t' death.

[But that cable was a little worrisome. Taking a few seconds to collect herself, Labrys carefully tried to pull her leg free of it or failing that, shake it off.]

[Like with the others, going beyond the red light triggers complete loss of superhuman abilities. The cables come up quickly--they'll have to either grab on fast to avoid striking their teammates or try to pass them. As long as Labrys can untangle her leg before the rest of her team lands on it, it should come loose easily enough.]
