Finally, another party
Characters: ProtoLancer
puppy_lancer, Zero Lancer
oathshackledbird and anyone interested in attending a birthday party. Details here.
Setting: Meadow
Format: Anything goes
Summary: Lancer throws his brother a party. Everyone can come except for the Archer (meaning they can come crash the party anyways)! Feel free to tag into any of the threads set up or invent your own scenario.
Warnings: None yet!
[It had taken some preparing, but the party was finally set up in a satisfactory way. There was a table for food and drink dragged in from the cafeteria, a wooden bucket filled with water with fruit floating in it, a strange paper mache Jason head pinata stacked on a scarecrow body, and a board with a pig with a Ganon head scribbled on it along with several spiraling paper "tails" attached to thumbtacks. There are no party decorations, but Lancer figures the flowers and sunshine should be decoration enough.]
[Now it's just a matter of waiting for people to show up.]

But now that he's here, he might as well stay. He's sure Lancelot would drag him back if he tried to leave, and he's not willing to waste a Command Seal on this.
He stands on the sidelines of the party. Wallflower that he is, he's leaned down to pick some of the actual flowers and holds them up to smell them, breathing in deeply. They distract him slightly from his agitation and distress.]
Re: open
[Lancer leans over Kariya. He can see that Kariya isn't enjoying this as much as Lancer wants him to. He's really at a loss for what to say to Kariya about everything.]

How does one even begin to apologize for an incident they can't remember?
Finally, though, he makes himself approach Kariya. The man is his friend and--promise to Lancelot aside--he and Kariya had been through so much together in the tower, Diarmuid isn't about to let this latest batch of tricks pull them apart.
He quietly crosses to where the other man is standing and drops to one knee in front of him.]
May we talk?
[The question is tentative and the nervousness Diarmuid is feeling, familiar. They've been in this position before--Kariya hurt and Diarmuid afraid that this time the other man will finally decide he doesn't want to hear what Diarmuid has to say.
But he still has to try. Their friendship means that much to him.]

He had noticed Kariya hanging back from the rest of the party and found himself amused by it. The man's starkly different look was especially intriguing, which is why he hovers by the man with a smile.]

and whose Master she has killed in her own timeline, as it turns out. Her intent is to remain present just long enough to be polite, and then make a hasty exit. In the meantime, she tries to be unobtrusive and overlooked.][When she notices Kariya, she experiences a brief bout of panicked guilt, like child caught doing something forbidden. When she notices Kariya looking sullen, that feeling is soon replaced with one of concern.]
[...Her demeanor is still shy when she approaches, though.]

And so he stands, drink in hand just watching everyone have fun with a silly grin on his face. He actually seems happy himself for once. The fact that seeing others happy is one of the things that will always make him feel better probably has a lot to do with that.]

Re: Wallflowers
With a cup of tea in his hand - thank god he can drink it again - he stands in a quiet spot of the meadow, observing everyone and making sure that nobody causes any trouble. Because someone has to

I should probably warn you. Unless you want my brother doing any number of ridiculous things to try and lighten your mood, you may want to try to smile just a little bit.
Or....will your face crack in half if you do?

[Diarmuid had been surprised, but happy to see Suzaku in the crowd. Surprised, because Suzaku had not struck him as the time to come to this kind of thing. Happy, because he had not seen the other man for a while, and he has been worried about how the other man was doing after everything with his curse and then Jason's experiment.
In fact, his simple question has a double meaning attached to it. Along with asking how Suzaku is doing, Diarmuid is also checking to see if the curse has fully passed from his friend.]

After his fashion, Lancelot lingers on the periphery. He sips his wine, enjoys the sunlight and the festival mood. He will wish Diarmuid the tidings of the Day when he may.]

[If Diarmuid seems a little pale, it's because he is still working through the emotions stirred up by his conversation with Kariya. The cheerful nature of the party is helping to sooth his emotions, but it is still going to take a while for him to completely settle down.]
I don't know if we really got anywhere, but we have at least talked now. That is more than we could say before.

Cecil was having absolutely none of that (what little he had been able to verbalize, anyway), and Kain had relented. So there he lurked at the edges of the meadow, pacing a little here, pacing a little there, occasionally sitting himself down on the grass.
He stuck out like the gloomy and awkward thing that he was. But he doesn't seem entirely averse to conversation. He's not glaring or anything.]
