Summary: The giant party is finally here! Mingle, Blind date and strange things ahoy!
Warnings: WHO KNOWS WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN.

Floor Thirty-Eight. Normally just a simple lounge, it was now Party Central.

It was clear Eikichi had put all of his heart into it. Say what you wanted about him, but he was a good manager and organizer. The place didn't look the same, with the flower bouquets strewing in odd corners, the bright pieces of tissues hung around like garlands. They had no balloons so they made with. A few banners hung into the air, the words crudely painted with Maya's name and wishing her a happy birthday. There was also a few others with the names of the birthdays Eikichi had managed to get.

At the entrance, there was a a few large baskets filled with corsages that Jun had prepared - acacias white (friendship and chaste love), yellow (secret love) and pink (friendship), white violets (Purity; Candor; Modesty; Innocence; Let's take a chance on happiness) and pink roses (Perfect happiness, please believe me; Friendship) expertly woven pieces of stems and grass meant it required no other materials than the flower themselves.

Of course, the meanings were not written. You just had a few to chose from. Then you could offer one to your date to wear on their hand...if you wished.

As Eikichi had said, no pressure.

...Except for coming, of course.

Those that were part of the blind dates had each been given a small piece of paper with a symbol.As they entered they could see a small sign instructing to try and find the other person with the same symbol. This would be their 'date' of the night.

On the farthest left to the entrance, they had dragged in a gigantic music system, with an area for a DJ to run (Tatsuya had helped with the wiring). Some large pieces of metals had been lined up to cover the floor, making a fake stage and on top of that, he had placed various instruments - along with those of his band, of course. The stage would be open for them to play later, regardless.

The main area reserved for food was a few tables that had been dragged in here, covered with whatever tissues they had found and filled with all the food they could take - some of it was typical stuff found in the cafeteria this week (but no gross stuff - Eikichi didn't want living maggots in his cheese today), the rest had been made by those nice enough to help with the cooking. There wasn't that much typical 'party food' as creating your own sweets and chips does take a while, but the jerky meats, the hot soups and the vegetables more than made up for it. The drinks were placed right besides it and who knew how many trips they had needed to set it all up.

There were also cakes on the next table, enough to feed at least everyone in the part a generous slice. Considering the ingredients and the people involved they ranged from the very simple to baked pies using the available fruits, and a single cake which appeared to have more work than the others. They did with what they had, and it was fantastic they had so much at all.

All the chairs and bags found in that room normally were tossed in a corner facing the central area so that people could sit down if they felt like it, but the central area was reserved to talk, mingle and dance once everything REALLY got underway.

It would soon too, once the crowds started to get bigger and bigger.

Ammy watched the people milling about with interest; this was an even bigger festival than the one at Kamiki! Not so much with the fireworks, though, sadly, but maybe she could fix that later.

For now, she had a corsage of white violets carefully held in her mouth. She'd given the paper card a good sniff earlier, so it should be a simple matter to track down the owner of the other card. AND THEN THE PARTY WOULD BEGIN.

Mondo hadn't signed himself up, and was more than a bit embarrassed to find out someone had put his name in. He would be punching out whoever did it if he ever found out. He had never been on any date before and in fact was rejected quite a few times, so, the idea of going on a blind date was just about terrifying.

Nonetheless, he picked up a pink rose corsage, knowing nothing about flowers and just assuming girls like roses, and wanders around, staring at the card in his hand.

Suddenly, Ammy caught the scent she was looking for. Stalking carefully around the crowd, she began to sneak up on Mondo from behind, just to be sure. Yep, he was staring at the right kind of card, all right. And he was holding some flowers of his own.

She bunched up and sprang at him, aiming to knock him down from behind. Because that's what people did on dates, obviously.

Caught off guard, he starts to fall forward, though he puts his hands and knees out just in time to catch himself. Getting in so many fights makes for good reflexes, at least.

"Aah-- The fuck's wrong with you?!"

But, then he turns his head to see over his shoulder and...is that a dog? No, a wolf?

Ammy hopped lightly off his back, then thrust a cold, wet nose in Mondo's face to give him a good sniff. Satisfied, she dropped the corsage of violets on his face and licked him.

This was fun already!

He can't help but grin a bit at the licking, but, when he picks up the flowers to see what it was Ammy dropped on him, he raises an eyebrow and scratches his head, trying to reason this out - something which doesn't come naturally to him.

"Wait a minute, you got one of those cards?"

They put a dog in with the blind dates? Seriously? If it's true, he can't decide whether that's better or worse than having a 'real' date.

Ammy barked twice in affirmation. Not that Mondo was really her type or anything, but for the sake of having some fun, why not play along? And then they could scarf down some awesome food and it'd be great.

She opened her jaws in a wolfish grin.

"...Right, then I guess I got this for...you?"

He holds out the flowers awkwardly, now having even less of a clue as to what to do here. How does one date a wolf, exactly? She does look pretty soft, he could happily rub her belly for hours... Not to mention how smart she is if she can understand him and even show some form of reply. Wow, dogs are great.

Ammy's fur was soft. So, so soft. In any case, it looked like the corsage had a loop in it, so she held out her paw expectantly. If you like it then you should put a ring on it

It'd probably make it a little more awkward to walk, but it wasn't like she had any wrists.

He isn't sure what it is she wants at first and takes her paw in his hand for a shake. Does she do tricks, should he ask for the other one now? ...Are there any treats around?

Ammy stared at him as he shook her paw. What were you doing, you dolt? Obviously the flowers should go on the paw!

She reached over and (gently!) bit his big fat head.

"Hey! You gotta work with me here, what d'you want?"

And then he notices the loop around the flowers - ah, she is smart. Much more so than he is, in fact...which isn't saying much, possibly even by the standards of any run-of-the-mill wolf.

Ammy gave him a rather indignant huff, but relented, once again putting her paw rather delicately forward.

She hoped this wasn't how Mondo treated his human dates.

He slides the corsage on her paw and grins, reaching out to scratch behind her ear.

"Happy now?"

Ahh, behind-the-ear scratches. Ammy gave Mondo's face a lick, then pointed her nose in the direction of one of the tables of food. She'd been ignoring the smell long enough -- it was time to get this party started. By which she probably meant gobbling up a bunch of snacks.

He turns to see what she's indicating and starts to realise just how hungry he is, too. Besides, that food looks good, way better than the junk he's eaten in the tower so far, and way better than the convenience store food he normally ate at home.

"Oh. Good idea." He stands and starts heading over.

Oh, man, they had jerky. Ammy was totally going to snag herself some of that (for herself, if no one stopped her from jumping on the table. Goddess or not, she was still a wolf).

She cast a glance over her shoulder at Mondo, grinning. Which end should they start at?

Definitely the jerky. He points to it before taking one and offering it to Ammy. He's not too worried about her being on the table. In fact, not even a bit, it doesn't occur to him at all.

She took it delicately in her teeth, then threw her head back to wolf it down. Om nom nom.

Ammy barked in appreciation, then picked up another piece. Hey, this stuff was pretty good.

He takes one for himself, ripping a piece off between his teeth. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad. In the end, he's pretty glad it went this way, he doesn't have to worry about dealing with a girl. Is it possible for a wolf to be 'cool'? If so, he's thinking Ammy is.

Ammy? Cool?

She'd probably appreciate hearing that, if she wasn't busy dunking her head in the punch bowl. She raised her muzzle, which was now slightly pinkish from the punch, then licked her lips.

Yes dignified wolf god.

So dignified...and so cute. It's nothing but endearing to watch her dunk her head in the punch, he just has to stop stuffing his face with jerky and look on. When she licks her lips, he just beams, why are dogs (wolves, whatever) so awesome?

He does, however, grab a napkin from nearby to mop up some punch dripping from her chin.

Ammy waited patiently as Mondo wipes her down, although she didn't much see the point, since she was just going to start eating again anyway. Also the punch was now contaminated with dog germs. Hooopefully, no one was going to drink out of it in the future!

Ooh, what was this? Some kind of pie? Hey, she liked pie. Ammy took a big, wolf-sized bite out of a piece of what looked like apple cobbler, looking contemplative as she munched. Hmm, yes. Nice balance of flavors here.

Well, when in rome, right? He just reaches into the pie to take a handful of it and eat straight out of his hand. Ah, yes, she has good taste...

He offers the rest in his hand to her, grinning all the while.
