We're Gonna Party Rock Till The Day Comes Up!

Characters: EVERYONE
Setting: Floor 38
Format: Whatever you feel comfortable with. Prose, action, it's all good.
Summary: The giant party is finally here! Mingle, Blind date and strange things ahoy!
Warnings: WHO KNOWS WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN.

Floor Thirty-Eight. Normally just a simple lounge, it was now Party Central.

It was clear Eikichi had put all of his heart into it. Say what you wanted about him, but he was a good manager and organizer. The place didn't look the same, with the flower bouquets strewing in odd corners, the bright pieces of tissues hung around like garlands. They had no balloons so they made with. A few banners hung into the air, the words crudely painted with Maya's name and wishing her a happy birthday. There was also a few others with the names of the birthdays Eikichi had managed to get.

At the entrance, there was a a few large baskets filled with corsages that Jun had prepared - acacias white (friendship and chaste love), yellow (secret love) and pink (friendship), white violets (Purity; Candor; Modesty; Innocence; Let's take a chance on happiness) and pink roses (Perfect happiness, please believe me; Friendship) expertly woven pieces of stems and grass meant it required no other materials than the flower themselves.

Of course, the meanings were not written. You just had a few to chose from. Then you could offer one to your date to wear on their hand...if you wished.

As Eikichi had said, no pressure.

...Except for coming, of course.

Those that were part of the blind dates had each been given a small piece of paper with a symbol.As they entered they could see a small sign instructing to try and find the other person with the same symbol. This would be their 'date' of the night.

On the farthest left to the entrance, they had dragged in a gigantic music system, with an area for a DJ to run (Tatsuya had helped with the wiring). Some large pieces of metals had been lined up to cover the floor, making a fake stage and on top of that, he had placed various instruments - along with those of his band, of course. The stage would be open for them to play later, regardless.

The main area reserved for food was a few tables that had been dragged in here, covered with whatever tissues they had found and filled with all the food they could take - some of it was typical stuff found in the cafeteria this week (but no gross stuff - Eikichi didn't want living maggots in his cheese today), the rest had been made by those nice enough to help with the cooking. There wasn't that much typical 'party food' as creating your own sweets and chips does take a while, but the jerky meats, the hot soups and the vegetables more than made up for it. The drinks were placed right besides it and who knew how many trips they had needed to set it all up.

There were also cakes on the next table, enough to feed at least everyone in the part a generous slice. Considering the ingredients and the people involved they ranged from the very simple to baked pies using the available fruits, and a single cake which appeared to have more work than the others. They did with what they had, and it was fantastic they had so much at all.

All the chairs and bags found in that room normally were tossed in a corner facing the central area so that people could sit down if they felt like it, but the central area was reserved to talk, mingle and dance once everything REALLY got underway.

It would soon too, once the crowds started to get bigger and bigger.

Dave was wearing his red, plush suit to the party. He didn't really care for this whole date thing, but he guessed it couldn't be too bad. Plus, he said he'd help with music so he was going to be here anyways. He pinned a pink rose to his suit jacket before walking farther into the room. The slip of paper was also pinned to the front of his jacket to make it easier for whoever he got paired with to see it.

For now, he was just looking around. At least Eikichi put effort into making it look party acceptable.

He hadn't shown his face nearly anywhere for the last week. Not since they had been returned from the pods, and especially not since he and Minato had lost their marbles. The only upside had been a marginal improvement to his already shitty health.

But one day he had found a strange symbol stuck to his door and, given his avoidance of social interaction like the plague, had no idea what it meant. Was it the Tower admins again? Were they planning something else? He'd risked wandering around through the levels to investigate, when he finally found the party. And honestly the sight of so many people, particularly a handful of people he recognized... made him sick.

So, trying to remain calm and avoid garnering anyone's attention, he tossed the paper to the ground for anyone to see, and started making his way out.

Oops. Sorry, were you on your way out, Jin? Apparently that isn't the case as Dave accidentally bumps into you as he walks in the direction you just came from. The slip of paper with the same symbol as Jin's is on Dave's suit.

Dave doesn't say anything in the moment. He's not sure what to say to be honest. "Sup." Well...at least that was a start?

He finally exhales. Shit, was he holding his breath? It didn't seem like Jin was even the same as he was their last encounter. He's just being paranoid.

The bump he can ignore; and he had every intention of just carrying on his way in spite of it. But he recognizes that voice-- and it's enough to get him to stop and look without even thinking about it, and once he realizes who it is, the panic starts to set in.

Jin wasn't usually a flight-over-fight guy, but boy did he want to run now. He'd not only operated on this kid, but completely went ballistic on him at Minato's behest. He probably would run, if he wasn't basically frozen and trying to fight the sick feeling in his stomach.

"W-- What?!" It's a start if you use the word 'start' loosely.

Oh. Well. If he was freaking out mentally, it looks like Jin is having a complete and utter melt down. This is kind of relieving and also not at all. He kind of feels bad. Okay, sure, he's technically the victim being attacked and all, but it couldn't have been completely Jin's fault.

"I'm like ten levels of cool with we don't ever talk about whatever happened. Hi, I'm Dave. I don't think we've ever met. Surprise, huge ass tower actually makes it surprisingly hard to just meet everyone," Dave says as evenly as he could. What? Jin did crazy shit? Nope. Of course not. Crazy talk. This is the first time meeting right?

Dave just doesn't want this to get out of hand again. He'd like to have a reasonably comfortable evening. If that's even possible.

"I..." What. There's a good long moment where Jin is just staring at him incredulously. Given this guy's grudge with the Administration, he kind of expected him to have...well, a grudge.

He's kind of unsure how to react to any of this, but he kind of...eases up a bit. Sort of. He still feels sick, but he doesn't look spazzmatically volatile. "Jin. Nice to... meet you?"

There's a whooooole lot of unsure in his voice right there, he didn't even have civil greetings with people normally.

That's because these guys were willingly fucking their shit up. He's pretty sure you weren't exactly a willing participant. Or at least he hopes not. Although your reaction made him pretty sure that whatever happened wasn't exactly something you took pride in.

"As nice as it's gonna get in a place like this. Although I might or might not have to cut this a little short. I apparently got put into a blind date drawing and I'm looking for whoever matches this here symbol." He points at the symbol pinned to his jacket. "Apparently I'm doing a real shit of a job finding them though."

Oh it had certainly not been willing. That was probably the worst part, in his opinion. He takes a moment to scrutinize the symbol on Dave's shirt and...sloooowly he starts putting it together.

"That's what those were for?" Seriously. Are you serious. The incredulity has enough of an effect that he actually sounds like his old self for a moment here, biting derision and annoyance all in tact. "I found one of those taped to my door. That's the whole reason I came down here."

Dave can't help but grin a little. "Yeah. Apparently someone or some people thought it would be cute to sign a whole lot of us up for some sweet ol' blind dates. I didn't sign up myself, but I guess it isn't so bad." He liked parties. And he got to play some downright, awesome music. Much better than that shit they play at school dances. "I doubt most people are actually going on dates. The age group varied between kids my age to old as hell."

He scoffed; he certainly hadn't signed himself up, but he has a good idea of who might have. And probably signed up a bunch of other people too, if they hadn't signed themselves up.

"I think I'm supposed to be your match for this evening, seeing as your pin matches what was on my door." Man what the hell, this kid had to be at least three or four years younger than him. "I'll let you off the hook if you let me though."

There was a lot of anon signing up going on in that post. Most of the people were probably victims of signing up against their will.

Wow. That sure is awkward for both of them. "Not really up to a moonlit dinner on the canals of Venice? Naw, me neither. I was probably going to hit up the DJ station anyways. We can pretend we have a romantic getaway for two and we exchanged vows and everything."

"Right..." Slightly... more unsure tone in that voice, but he's pretty sure he's off the hook with the way this kid was talking, so tht was always a plus.

"Have fun with your music I guess." Steadily increasing unsureness, yep. Someone's been out of the Hermit cave too long. "If it's alright with you, I don't think I'll be sticking around.

Unless you're actually some sick asshole who gets a kick out of killing people, it's hard to try and stay mad. Especially if it wasn't exactly Jin's fault.

"Have fun doing whatever the fuck you do." Because, he honestly doesn't know. he'd make a crack at something like have a hobby for operating, but...that's mean and he rather not actually bring it up again. "Naw. Be free like a bird. Or something."

You could say that 'till you're blue in the face and he still wouldn't listen, unfortunately.

"Thanks," Said as he turned and made his way for the exit once again. Although it was pretty obvious the thanks was for more than just letting him not have to deal with Blind Date Bullshit, but like hell he was actually going to verbalize anything beyond then. "See ya, I guess."

Dave just kind of waves, before slinking off to examine the DJ station.
