Summary: The giant party is finally here! Mingle, Blind date and strange things ahoy!
Warnings: WHO KNOWS WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN.

Floor Thirty-Eight. Normally just a simple lounge, it was now Party Central.

It was clear Eikichi had put all of his heart into it. Say what you wanted about him, but he was a good manager and organizer. The place didn't look the same, with the flower bouquets strewing in odd corners, the bright pieces of tissues hung around like garlands. They had no balloons so they made with. A few banners hung into the air, the words crudely painted with Maya's name and wishing her a happy birthday. There was also a few others with the names of the birthdays Eikichi had managed to get.

At the entrance, there was a a few large baskets filled with corsages that Jun had prepared - acacias white (friendship and chaste love), yellow (secret love) and pink (friendship), white violets (Purity; Candor; Modesty; Innocence; Let's take a chance on happiness) and pink roses (Perfect happiness, please believe me; Friendship) expertly woven pieces of stems and grass meant it required no other materials than the flower themselves.

Of course, the meanings were not written. You just had a few to chose from. Then you could offer one to your date to wear on their hand...if you wished.

As Eikichi had said, no pressure.

...Except for coming, of course.

Those that were part of the blind dates had each been given a small piece of paper with a symbol.As they entered they could see a small sign instructing to try and find the other person with the same symbol. This would be their 'date' of the night.

On the farthest left to the entrance, they had dragged in a gigantic music system, with an area for a DJ to run (Tatsuya had helped with the wiring). Some large pieces of metals had been lined up to cover the floor, making a fake stage and on top of that, he had placed various instruments - along with those of his band, of course. The stage would be open for them to play later, regardless.

The main area reserved for food was a few tables that had been dragged in here, covered with whatever tissues they had found and filled with all the food they could take - some of it was typical stuff found in the cafeteria this week (but no gross stuff - Eikichi didn't want living maggots in his cheese today), the rest had been made by those nice enough to help with the cooking. There wasn't that much typical 'party food' as creating your own sweets and chips does take a while, but the jerky meats, the hot soups and the vegetables more than made up for it. The drinks were placed right besides it and who knew how many trips they had needed to set it all up.

There were also cakes on the next table, enough to feed at least everyone in the part a generous slice. Considering the ingredients and the people involved they ranged from the very simple to baked pies using the available fruits, and a single cake which appeared to have more work than the others. They did with what they had, and it was fantastic they had so much at all.

All the chairs and bags found in that room normally were tossed in a corner facing the central area so that people could sit down if they felt like it, but the central area was reserved to talk, mingle and dance once everything REALLY got underway.

It would soon too, once the crowds started to get bigger and bigger.

[ Blind dates. It was still a little weird, but.. Urotsuki, being the kind of girl she is, longed for some company in the tower either way. And the guy had said it was possible to just make friends too even if it didn't turn out to be a date, so it'd be good either way, right? If she wouldn't have to be alone at the party, she would already feel a lot more comfortable about the whole deal.

Still.. she is a little nervous since she doesn't know who her date will be - she can't help but quickly glance whenever she seems someone with a paper to see if they have the same symbol as her, but she can't seem to find the person just yet, so she just ends up standing by herself and looking around a little meekly. She's in a different outfit at least though - she thought it was only appropriate to at least wear a special outfit for the party and the blind date thing, so she just put on the outfit she had gotten as a 'present' after the whole thing from last month, a purple dress. ]

[Kidou finally left Genda and Sakuma's sides to go look for his date. He was wearing his Teioku uniform, with a clip in his now short hair to keep it from falling into his face and his goggles weren't on his person for once. In one hand he held a white violet for his date, and the other held the slip of paper he was handed. He stared at the note intensely, almost as if an arrow was going to appear pointing towards the person who shared the same symbol. And since he was paying so much attention to the little slip of paper, he wasn't looking where he was walking and before he knew it, he ended up running into someone. Urotsuki.]

Ah--! [He had accidentally knocked the poor girl over, and he quickly put the slip of paper in his pocket to reach his hand out to her to help her back up.]

Are you alright?

[ There's a tiny shriek as she's suddenly knocked over - so suddenly that she doesn't even realise it's him until she peers up and recognizes him despite the change in hair and the lack of goggles. ]

K-.. Kidou-kun.. I'm fine. [ She's still rubbing her head a little, but it looks like she's unharmed despite the fall. She scrambles to get up after grabbing his hand. ]

.. Sorry, was I in the way..?

No, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going, so I should be the one apologizing. [He gently brushes her shoulder off and notices her slip of paper lying on the floor. As he crouches down to pick it up, he can't help but flip it over to see what was on it; which shocks him a little when he sees it.] Urotsuki.... [He stands up again and hands the paper to her before taking out his own to show her.]

It looks like we're on a date tonight.

[ ... give her a moment here.

She just blankly stares at first - from him, to her paper, and then to his paper.. And then between the two papers for a few moments, as if she's making sure it's really the same symbol even though it obviously is. And then it slowly starts to settle in-- the other half of our blind date.. is him, isn't it? Urotsuki isn't exactly sure why, but somehow it makes her feel.. relieved-- and not just that, happy too. ]

I'm.. having a date with you, Kidou-kun? [ her cheeks light up just slightly, and she awkwardly takes back her own paper to at least be able to distract herself with something before seeming too flustered. ]

[He smiles] It appears so. [Then, after slipping his note back into his pocket, he lets out a small sigh.]

...I'm actually really glad it's you, Urotsuki. I was expecting to have to court someone I don't even know, so I'm glad my date is someone I do know. [And after a pause.] ...and someone I like.

[And then he holds out the white violet corsage.] Hold out your hand for me.

[chainsawn]

[ .. Oh gosh, all this talk about courting, and then him saying 'someone I like'-- it's enough to make her cheeks flare up even more, but even so she nods (maybe a little bit too eagerly and nervously at the same time) while holding out her hand just like he says.

She stummers as if she wants to say something in return too, but once she figures there's nothing remotely coherent she can force out right now, she just shuts up again for a moment, instead staring at him. ]

[He can't help but chuckle a little at how flustered Urotsuki was. It was... really cute!

He gently takes her hand and pulls her arm towards him just a bit so he can easily tie the flower onto her wrist. He gives it a big bow to go on the underside of her wrist, with the flower on top, and he makes sure it wasn't too tight or too loose.] There.

[chainsawn]

[ There's another moment of staring at the flower - it's pretty, it really is, but it's even more important that he was the one giving her it.. It takes her a moment to find words, but she's smiling a little. ]

Thank you. I.. really like it. [ and it's true, it can practically already be read off her face. ]

And with what you said earlier.. I'm glad it's you too, Kidou-kun. Going on a date with you is great.

I'm happy that you like it. [And he's going to rub the back of his head a little.]

I'm sure there are better people to have as your date, though.

[chainsawn]

.. No way.

[ She quickly shakes her head, as if she really, really wants to at least get this much across. ]

If it's okay for me to be honest here, I'd say.. I don't think there's anyone I'd be more happy to go on a date with in this tower than Kidou-kun.

[That gets his face to flush a bit, and he's looking at her almost confused.]


...really?

[chainsawn]

[ She quickly nods again, before the moment is lost. ]

Really..! [ Urotsuki is even a little less blank as she says it.. ] .. That's not.. a weird or bad thing, is it? It's not something you don't like, right..?

No, no it's not. [He shakes his head]

I'm just... surprised.

[chainsawn]

... Surprised..? [ now that's something she apparently didn't expect to hear, with how she's blinking curiously. ]

Why? Is it.. that strange?

No, no, no. [He shakes his head again.]

I just... didn't think that anyone would really want to do anything like this with me... [Wow how embarrassing, his face is starting to get pretty red.]


So I'm surprised.

[chainsawn]

.. Well.. I.. didn't particularly think of it like this before, or at least, not so specific.. [ twirling a lock of hair nervously now, fidget.. ]

But.. now I know it's like this, I don't mind at all. Like I said before.. I think you're a really good person. I'm always glad when I'm around you.
