Summary: The giant party is finally here! Mingle, Blind date and strange things ahoy!
Warnings: WHO KNOWS WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN.

Floor Thirty-Eight. Normally just a simple lounge, it was now Party Central.

It was clear Eikichi had put all of his heart into it. Say what you wanted about him, but he was a good manager and organizer. The place didn't look the same, with the flower bouquets strewing in odd corners, the bright pieces of tissues hung around like garlands. They had no balloons so they made with. A few banners hung into the air, the words crudely painted with Maya's name and wishing her a happy birthday. There was also a few others with the names of the birthdays Eikichi had managed to get.

At the entrance, there was a a few large baskets filled with corsages that Jun had prepared - acacias white (friendship and chaste love), yellow (secret love) and pink (friendship), white violets (Purity; Candor; Modesty; Innocence; Let's take a chance on happiness) and pink roses (Perfect happiness, please believe me; Friendship) expertly woven pieces of stems and grass meant it required no other materials than the flower themselves.

Of course, the meanings were not written. You just had a few to chose from. Then you could offer one to your date to wear on their hand...if you wished.

As Eikichi had said, no pressure.

...Except for coming, of course.

Those that were part of the blind dates had each been given a small piece of paper with a symbol.As they entered they could see a small sign instructing to try and find the other person with the same symbol. This would be their 'date' of the night.

On the farthest left to the entrance, they had dragged in a gigantic music system, with an area for a DJ to run (Tatsuya had helped with the wiring). Some large pieces of metals had been lined up to cover the floor, making a fake stage and on top of that, he had placed various instruments - along with those of his band, of course. The stage would be open for them to play later, regardless.

The main area reserved for food was a few tables that had been dragged in here, covered with whatever tissues they had found and filled with all the food they could take - some of it was typical stuff found in the cafeteria this week (but no gross stuff - Eikichi didn't want living maggots in his cheese today), the rest had been made by those nice enough to help with the cooking. There wasn't that much typical 'party food' as creating your own sweets and chips does take a while, but the jerky meats, the hot soups and the vegetables more than made up for it. The drinks were placed right besides it and who knew how many trips they had needed to set it all up.

There were also cakes on the next table, enough to feed at least everyone in the part a generous slice. Considering the ingredients and the people involved they ranged from the very simple to baked pies using the available fruits, and a single cake which appeared to have more work than the others. They did with what they had, and it was fantastic they had so much at all.

All the chairs and bags found in that room normally were tossed in a corner facing the central area so that people could sit down if they felt like it, but the central area was reserved to talk, mingle and dance once everything REALLY got underway.

It would soon too, once the crowds started to get bigger and bigger.

Jade did not have many talents, unless you counted the talent for screwing something up. What she did have however, was a pretty good hand at music. She didn't care much fort he fruity flower decorations everywhere, but when she'd discovered the giant music system, she had helped herself to one of the electric guitars from the music room.

During a lull in the music and live entertainment, she had gotten up onto the stage herself, and started playing out a high-paced and energetic song on the guitar. And she was surprisingly skilled at it too! If you ask nicely, she'll even take requests.

Here was some applause.

"Where did you learn how to play?"

At the applause, she swung the guitar around so that it settled on her back and gave a way-too-over-dramatic-to-be-cool bow.

"Self taught, bro," She responded once she straightened up and hopped off the stage. "And some sheet music on the internet."

"Huh. Here I thought you learned from a master in the field."

Aleph was remarkably cheery, for him.

"Hey man, I am totally a master," She says, overdramatically crossing her arms and adopting a broad stance as if it made her look cool.

"You're looking a badass rock star in the making."

"I'm sure." He shrugs. "How have you been since we talked? Any luck with the drinks?"

Come on man, don't play like that, her dreams of being a rockstar are totally doable and not at all ridiculous.

"Heh, nah. This place is as dry as the Sahara Desert during the Prohibition Era. Think there might be something in that fancy restaurant, but it's probably not enough for a real party."

"That's a shame, I was looking forward to it."

Aleph had enough taste for alcohol that bars were a frequent ingame mechanic, alright.

"Don't worry your alcoholic little ass, bro, we'll dig some up. There's folks of all sorts here, I'm sure there's someone who'll bring the vodka." Said with a bit more of a smile and a chuckle. "Just keep an eye out for whatever Jokester'll spike the punch."

"Remember not to get in over your head and always make sure you can walk back to your room afterwards."

Hey, Aleph felt like he should be some kind of responsible adult here.

"Nah man, no worries. I am fucking aces at keeping things under my head. Everything is so under my head that I'm the primary supervisor of all shit that could possibly get over one's head."

All of which was in fact a total lie, because she usually had to be yelled at by multiple people for being an idiot. But. Details. "Gotta keep my cool so I can hold the camera when everyone else gets wasted. Cinema gold right there, man."

Aleph did not believe that very much. "Well, if I find a camera, I'll pass it along to you and we can enjoy the spectacle. We can put it in a photo album, maybe."

He totally should because she was totally aces at it. Of course.

"Nah don't worry about that," She said, waving a hand. "Assholes in charge were nice enough to leave me my picture box from home in my box of goodies, so we're covered."

[Elian finds himself listening to some music and sits with every intention to hang on to the notes. He might not be able to remember them all, but it was still information. Once the songs have come to their conclusion, he smiles and claps.]

It's better than what I can do. Then again, I really hadn't had much of a chance to hone a talent like that.

[She plopped down to sit down on the edge of the stage, holding the guitar in her lap.]

I didn't have anything but free time before the Medium, so I had to do something. There's some choice pieces on the 28th floor though, if you ever feel the music in you.

It sounds like a worthy venture. I've gotten a bit partial to DDR when I was living in the city. Urizane used to take me to the arcade when we had the time.

Fuck yeah, man. [And she played off a chord or too, which wasn't much given the fact that she had already unplugged the guitar by now.]

Dancing's pretty rad too, especially if you can pull off some sweet moves. DDR's a step in the nice direction.

It's all about timing and rhythm. I certainly liked it. I might not play an instrument, but I do like to dance.

[He watches her strum the guitar with interest and hopped up to the stage to sit down next to Jade with enough personal space between them.]

For one they're annoying as fuck. Have you ever heard a donkey and their possessed maniac squeal? [Not that she's ever seen a donkey in real life. But. Details.]

Secondly re: the annoying part, they're also stubborn as hell and would insist on occupying all of your time because they will never be happy until you're miserable.
