We're Gonna Party Rock Till The Day Comes Up!

Summary: The giant party is finally here! Mingle, Blind date and strange things ahoy!
Warnings: WHO KNOWS WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN.

Floor Thirty-Eight. Normally just a simple lounge, it was now Party Central.

It was clear Eikichi had put all of his heart into it. Say what you wanted about him, but he was a good manager and organizer. The place didn't look the same, with the flower bouquets strewing in odd corners, the bright pieces of tissues hung around like garlands. They had no balloons so they made with. A few banners hung into the air, the words crudely painted with Maya's name and wishing her a happy birthday. There was also a few others with the names of the birthdays Eikichi had managed to get.

At the entrance, there was a a few large baskets filled with corsages that Jun had prepared - acacias white (friendship and chaste love), yellow (secret love) and pink (friendship), white violets (Purity; Candor; Modesty; Innocence; Let's take a chance on happiness) and pink roses (Perfect happiness, please believe me; Friendship) expertly woven pieces of stems and grass meant it required no other materials than the flower themselves.

Of course, the meanings were not written. You just had a few to chose from. Then you could offer one to your date to wear on their hand...if you wished.

As Eikichi had said, no pressure.

...Except for coming, of course.

Those that were part of the blind dates had each been given a small piece of paper with a symbol.As they entered they could see a small sign instructing to try and find the other person with the same symbol. This would be their 'date' of the night.

On the farthest left to the entrance, they had dragged in a gigantic music system, with an area for a DJ to run (Tatsuya had helped with the wiring). Some large pieces of metals had been lined up to cover the floor, making a fake stage and on top of that, he had placed various instruments - along with those of his band, of course. The stage would be open for them to play later, regardless.

The main area reserved for food was a few tables that had been dragged in here, covered with whatever tissues they had found and filled with all the food they could take - some of it was typical stuff found in the cafeteria this week (but no gross stuff - Eikichi didn't want living maggots in his cheese today), the rest had been made by those nice enough to help with the cooking. There wasn't that much typical 'party food' as creating your own sweets and chips does take a while, but the jerky meats, the hot soups and the vegetables more than made up for it. The drinks were placed right besides it and who knew how many trips they had needed to set it all up.

There were also cakes on the next table, enough to feed at least everyone in the part a generous slice. Considering the ingredients and the people involved they ranged from the very simple to baked pies using the available fruits, and a single cake which appeared to have more work than the others. They did with what they had, and it was fantastic they had so much at all.

All the chairs and bags found in that room normally were tossed in a corner facing the central area so that people could sit down if they felt like it, but the central area was reserved to talk, mingle and dance once everything REALLY got underway.

It would soon too, once the crowds started to get bigger and bigger.

[Soooo he needed to find someone with this symbol? Well that would be easy and fun too! He still had no concept of this being a date where one would hold hands and do romantic things. Nope, he he just thought this was, make new friends and boy did he need friends.

Now, how should he begin looking for his potential new friend?

Well obviously get up on a chair and start waving his arms around like a dimwit. He is shouting, trying to make his voice carry over the room. He's even gone as far as to draw the symbol on a larger piece of paper and pinning it to the front of himself. Yeah, whoever his partner is is going to have a fun time with him.]

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey! Does anyone have this symbol!? Come on! Anybody!?

[Sakuma on the other hand, is expecting a romantic date because what else is a date supposed to be? Although he doesn't particularly want to be here. After all, his name appeared on the list without him even signing up but his friends had all decided to go and he felt weird being the only one to not go, so here he is, feeling a little too awkward to approach girls wandering around by themselves to see if they possess a piece of paper that has the matching symbol to his.

Then the problem solves itself when someone obnoxiously shouts over the crowd, waving his paper in the air while standing on a chair.

Sakuma almost feels bad for the person who has this guy as a date until he notices the symbol on his paper--

[Obviously something is wrong here but, hesitantly, he raises a hand.]

[Cross peers over the crowd and see's oh look his friend for the evening, raising his hand! Smiling like a dork, Cross hops off the chair and makes his way through the crowd. He makes it towards his partner, tilting his head curiously in the process. This kid doesn't look much older than him but whatever.]

It's nice to meet you! I hope we can be good friends. My name's Cross.

[Sakuma actually takes a step backward from the excess enthusiasm. He's not sure he can deal with this the entire night.]

...I'm Sakuma.

[Obviously this isn't really a date then if they're both boys but that leaves Sakuma at a loss at what to do. Dancing would be awkward...]

...There's two teams and both are trying to get possession of the ball so they can score into the opponent's goal. And you're not allowed to use your hands.

[Hey, this kid was busy fighting crime in his world. Not like he had much of a choice.]

Hmm? Really? Sounds like it could be pretty difficult. So, how come you can't touch the ball with your hands?

It's part of the rules. Besides, it makes it a lot more challenging that way.

[And this kid comes from a world where everyone is obsessed with soccer, so...]

I could... [His voice trails off as he considers.] I could show you now. It's not like we're doing anything and I don't like parties anyway.

Hm, you don't? Well it's a good chance at making friends isn't it? And in place like this, I think anyone could use some friends.

It's noisy and there's too many people.

[He doesn't say anything about making friends though. Sure he agrees that knowing more people here can be beneficial but... making friends? How do.

In case you haven't noticed, he kind of has an aversion to speaking to people.]

Hm, well if you're sure. I think the meadow is a good place to start, right?

The meadow should be fine. I think that's the only place that's good for soccer here anyway.

[Well, at least he makes friends better when he's playing soccer with them.]
