Characters: Gaara [AU1], and Elian [OU]

Summary: Elian is recovering and Gaara pays him a visit in his room since Elian left the infirmary.
Warnings: Talks of death, possible war.
Elian sat on his bed with his knees to his chest. Slightly he rocked. It felt lonely without his father and now that he had time to think about it, the more he wanted to grieve. He knew it would take time. It was academic. He was already in one stage, denial. It wasn't just his father he lost. It was his entire world, but that was the commonality among the residents here, so why did it feel like he was hit in the chest with a sledge hammer?
He tried everything to forget the pain. How did everyone else cope? He could ask but what good would it do him if he was denying everything else? Still, he was beginning to feel emotions that were once closed off to him. He gained friendships, powerful allies and more importantly, he was gaining independence. He just didn't see it yet.
He didn't want to cry anymore since all it really did was give him a headache. He could play DDR, but he could barely stand up from the morphine that was still in his system. Frustrated, he growled softly and fell onto the pillows and waited. "I'm so useless."
